While the pandemic is ongoing, students can use free-of-charge cloud VPS-servers for full training, which includes deployment and testing of applications, virtual desktops, website hosting, and more.

Most educational institutions have had to make the transition to distance learning, while social distancing measures are in place. With many technical universities requiring virtual server equipment to organize distance learning and student self-training, Serverspace is offering assistance to 100 technical universities from around the world. This includes leading European and US universities, as well as others. Serverspace has many configuration options for VPS servers, allowing students to select and configure a virtual machine for their project.

Serverspace VPS servers are powered by the vStack hyper converged platform and the bhyve hypervisor. They offer features such as fast power increase, to increase the resources of each virtual server at any time, and High Availability to restart servers on the other host in the event of a hardware host failure. Each virtual server’s capacity is 100% provided, with no overselling allowed on the vStack platform. They also offer high performance with the latest Intel Xeon Scalable v2 CPU and high speed disk system.

The following comment comes from the Serverspace press service:

“The COVID-19 pandemic and forced isolation have affected all sectors, from medicine to private business. Education also suffers. We live in the digital age, and the training of technical specialists is a priority for any country. We will overcome the consequences of the current crisis, including through the efforts of future engineers and programmers. Severspace believes that in this unprecedented situation, it is very important that universities have the opportunity not to stop the learning process. Helping students with technical specialties is not just a “goodwill gesture”, but a necessary contribution to economic recovery.”

The offer from Serverspace will be available to technical universities during the pandemic to allow both the universities and their students to continue working and learning. By providing this service to universities, they can play their part in supporting important institutions and the next generation of technical experts around the world.
