Phoenix Rehab launches a new reformer clinical pilates service in Novena, Singapore.
June 14, 2021 / / —
Phoenix Rehab has launched a new reformer clinical pilates service in Novena, Singapore. The service uses a specialized piece of equipment known as a reformer to enhance the benefits of clinical pilates. It’s a unique form of physiotherapy and rehabilitation that is currently growing in popularity around the world as an alternative treatment that can treat a full range of orthopedic issues, sports conditions, and injuries.
The purpose of reformer clinical pilates is three-fold;
– To restore a full range of movement to injured or stiff areas of the body
– To help patients return to a normal daily routine such as dressing, washing, and going outside to work
– To prevent reinjury in the future by strengthening deep postural muscles of the abdomen and spine to improve core stability and posture
Clinical pilates is taught by a regulated healthcare professional (such as physiotherapists) with deep knowledge of anatomy and injuries as well as the rehabilitation frameworks and concepts to facilitate healing. Phoenix Rehab combines these concepts with pilates principles and integrates them into an individualized exercise program specific to the needs of each client. After assessing and determining the main cause of a client’s issue, pilates is used as a tool to improve movement patterns, optimize performance and limit the risk of injury.
Reformer clinical pilates can treat a wide range of orthopedic and sports injuries including, but not limited to:
– Lower back pain
– Slipped disc (herniated disk)
– Lifting injuries
– Poor core stability
– Shoulder dislocations
– Sports injuries
– Knee pain
– Ankle sprains
– Calf muscle strain
– Scoliosis
– Wrist pain
– Women’s health
Phoenix Rehab hopes to further expand its services and make more people aware of the benefits of reformer clinical pilates. After an initial consultation, the principal physiotherapist will make a detailed assessment to help further understand your body and injuries. Patients will then be given the option of one-to-one private lessons or instructions on how to exercise and stretch at home to assist in the healing and recovery of orthopedic injuries and sports conditions.
