TruckStop Vampires “Really” speaks to Drug Epidemic

TruckStop Vampires (the AMERICAN ROCK BAND) hits hard with its latest release “Really”. You may know these guys from their rocking cover of “Roadhouse Blues” featuring the legendary guitarist George Lynch that has been trending on high on streaming platforms lately. Approximately 90,000 people have died in 2020 of a drug overdose setting a frightening record for the highest number of deaths in a year and the largest increase in drug related deaths year over year.

The new song deals with the drug epidemic exacerbated by COVID-19. “Between the COVID-19 lockdowns and the economic devastation, overdose deaths have soared,” stated Paul Dell’Angelo, a spokesman for the band. “Really” is a song with soul piercing lyrics that will cause you to think. Anyone who has either struggled with addiction or has been exposed to it’s devastation can relate to this song. “It’s just true!” exclaims Dell’Angelo. “When Unknown wrote this tune things were “Really” bad with the opium epidemic, we had lost some friends. Now this thing is so out of control its just crushing us.”

“Too many of those we love and cherish are gone and in my heart I agonize over the losses every day,” said the Unknown Guitar Player, the song’s writer/producer and the bands guitarist. “I feel it, it’s visceral” he continued “but there is just no magic spell out there to help someone and get them well cause the fact is the answer lies deep within all of us”, continued Unknown “and that’s what the song is about!”

TruckStop Vampires is an honest and real heavy rock band. The guitar riffs, drum solos, base lines and vocal’s just scream while the lyric’s take the listener on a storied and vast journey through emotions and thoughts. These guys have something very special going right now, it may not last, but for now, its lightning in a bottle.

The life’s they have lived all gets put into the music and you can tell. It’s such a breath of fresh air to hear a band writing and playing from the heart. The lyrics are unvarnished and cuttingly honest while the music will you rock and captivate your mind.

I had the honor of listening to a few of these. I must say that each song is a work of art of its own. You cannot label these guys and put them in a single category. They are head and shoulders beyond that type of treatment. Each song you hear will hit you differently. When their album comes out it will be one for the ages. A compilation of extraordinary songs each one different than the next butt just as compelling.
