Morrocan Rap Superstar A-JEY Launches “Colombiana”, Now Available on All Streaming Platforms

Anass Jerari popularly known as A-JEY is a Moroccan rapper who released several singles in 2022 with the latest being the trending hit “Colombiana”.

Born Anass Jerari, A-JEY hails from the Moroccan city of Nador, famous for its historic monuments, gorgeous landscapes, and love for rhythmic, powerful music. Being enamored with music and rhyme even as a child, Anass would often freestyle with his friends at school, write snippets of what would later become his original songs, and observe his surroundings in search of inspiration.

After coming of age, Anass Jerari attended hip-hop and rap concerts and strived to buy each cassette and CD his idols such as 2Pac, the Notorious B. I. G., Nas, and DMX released. His introduction to music was a journey of self-discovery, and it was not long before he wanted to pursue a career in the rap industry. 

He assumed the persona of A-JEY, which he named after his initials, and set his sights on creating deep, meaningful music that would resonate with hip-hop and rap enthusiasts and die-hard fans across all compass points. 

A-JEY came to the scene in 2019 with a single titled “ANS”. His long-time friend Dr. Black mixed the tune while Zakaria Marki directed the official video. In four years, this tune eclipsed hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube, Spotify, and other social multimedia platforms. 

The following year, A-JEY featured Dr. Black in his second single titled “7mama”. He returned with a different aesthetic while continuing to demonstrate his skills as a top-tier wordsmith. In late 2020, A-JEY reached the next level when he released “Tla7”. While the video garnered only 4,000 streams on Spotify, it reached over 673,000 hits on YouTube. 

The year 2022 was very busy for A-JEY, as he launched four songs, each accompanied by well-produced music videos. 

The first track A-JEY launched this year is titled “Long Way” and features Rifdragon. Though explicit, “Long Way” showcases A-JEY’s evolution as a human and artist. Weeks after “Long Way”, A-JEY launched “50أ”, which is the only animated video in his catalog. 

A-JEY reached global recognition and fame with his latest single titled “Colombiana”. With thousands of hits across various social media platforms and over a million views on YouTube, A-JEY’s “Colombiana” helped him enter the upper echelons of the rap industry.
