Rochester, USA – June 3, 2015 /MarketersMedia/ —
In 2010, 1 in 68 children had been identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), a developmental disability that can cause significant social, communicational and behavioral challenges. The number of children affected by ASD has increased ten-fold in the last 40 years. With thousands of new diagnosis’ every year, many parents do not know where to go from there. A new study suggests parents who go through an intense training program may help manage problem behaviors in their children with autism. In this study, nearly 70 percent of these children showed better behavior by the end of the trial in the clinician’s assessment.
As educators and medical professionals ramp up research into treatments of ASD, autism expert and therapist Karolina LaBrecque, Phd. has created a first ever Autism Coaching Academy. The Autism Coach can provide support and information for families and people with ASD. “Autism is on the rise and more and more families need help to figure out what to do after the diagnosis,” said LaBrecque, who along with her 15 years of experience in the field of autism, is a college professor. “As anyone else, they want to have balanced and fulfilling lives. In order to do this, they don’t need to spend years researching, and paying thousands of dollars for college and university degrees. I have done that so you don’t have to.”
LaBrecque helps coaches become the go-to expert in ASD. With her desire to make a difference, the Autism Coaching Academy can help those families in need, and put them on the right track after diagnosis. With a 70 percent chance of better behavior, the coaching academy is one full of success.
“If we don’t act now, what will be the cost to society later?” LaBrecque has the future in mind, and with her academy, the power to change it. “We want to empower through coaching, and support by spreading awareness. By training more coaches, we can reach more people, therefore more can be helped.”
