Dino Rizzo, a 35-year ministry veteran who is the executive director of ARC (Association of Related Churches), is excited to announce the launch of Feed Your Neighbor, a feeding ministry.

Recently, Dino Rizzo took a trip to Indiana and met with Pastors Dave and Kate Sumrall at ITown Church, which is heading up the initiative.

Indianapolis is home to several “food deserts,” which is defined as an urban area in which it’s difficult to buy affordable or high-quality fresh food. So many people in the local community have little to no access to grocery stores in their neighborhood and no easy means of transportation to travel to quality grocery stores that are located further away.

By partnering with farmers, grocery stores and food distribution networks, Feed Your Neighbor is able to provide nutritious, high-quality food to families and individuals who go hungry every week.

Members of ITown Church have provided the resources to fuel the organization through their tithes as well as offerings. The organization has an amazing team of individuals who also help to sort, pack, deliver and stock locations for Feed Your Neighbor every week.

To date, the initiative has fed 75,674 families with more than 1.5 million pounds of food. The meetings between members of ITown Church and needy members of the community have also resulted in 1,026 salvations, as people have accepted the word of God.

There are 22 locations for Feed Your Neighbor in total, all of which provide fresh fruit and vegetables along with canned goods at public schools across the food deserts in the city of Indianapolis.

“A huge thanks to our ministry partners and Go Team, who will keep these locations stocked,” Dino Rizzo said. “We couldn’t do it without you!”

The primary goal of Feed Your Neighbor is to work together to eliminate hunger across Indianapolis. But Dino Rizzo says they don’t just want to feed people’s bodies; they also want to feed their souls and spirits.

The food is available to anyone who needs it with no strings attached. And those who are searching for something more in their lives can also be introduced to Jesus and how following His word can bring you more than you could ever imagine.

“Jesus loves you, just the way you are,” Dino Rizzo said. “The idea that you have to be ‘good enough’ for God is so far from the very nature of who God is. The Bible says that He sent his own son to this earth, to walk among us, empathize with us, and ultimately die to pay the price for our sins.”

In many ways, Feed Your Neighbor is helping to make sure that needy people in Indianapolis have enough sustenance in more ways than one.
