New Partnership Brings Hope to South Africa’s Education Sector

The Universal Association of School Governing Bodies (UASGB) and the Scientology Volunteer Ministers formed a groundbreaking partnership to empower educators to tackle social issues and learning barriers in disadvantaged schools. The partnership seeks to address the critical need for effective solutions to overcome these obstacles.

Recently, the Universal Association of School Governing Bodies (UASGB) and the Scientology Volunteer Ministers formed a groundbreaking partnership to empower educators with practical tools to tackle social issues and learning barriers in disadvantaged schools. The collaboration aims to improve governance, teaching quality, and learning outcomes in South African schools, which have faced significant challenges, as highlighted by recent studies. The partnership seeks to address the critical need for effective solutions to overcome these obstacles.

Since its establishment in 2022, the UASGB has been on a quest to find solutions to the issues affecting the education sector. After discovering the positive impact of the Scientology Tools for Life program on education, the organization’s leadership decided to partner with to bring these solutions to the education sector on a broad scale.

At a recent event at the Church of Scientology, Castle Kyalami, Midrand, where over 100 community leaders gathered for a life-changing workshop, Mr. Pheeha Samuel Marokhu, national chairperson and founder of the UASGB, emphasized the importance of this partnership in bringing practical tools to educators.

“The Scientology Tools for Life program has already shown remarkable results in improving education outcomes,” said Mr. Marokhu. “We are excited to partner with the Church of Scientology to bring these solutions to our members and the broader education community.”

The Scientology Tools for Life program, developed by L. Ron Hubbard, offers real-world solutions to improve conditions in communities and professional areas. The curriculum covers essential subjects like:

– Communication, Social and academic learner support, Conflict resolution, Ethics and integrity, Leadership, Organizing and implementation skills, Social and spiritual support for family issues, gender-based violence, drug and substance abuse, grief, and depression.

With thousands of active volunteers in South Africa, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Africa has been assisting and building communities for decades. In the education sector alone, over thousands of educators have been trained in the Scientology Tools for Life program over the past three years, reporting improved student-teacher relationships, reduced bullying, and enhanced academic performance.

Mr. Jayjay Nkwinika, national school governance coordinator for the UASGB and a graduate of the Scientology Tools for Life program, expressed confidence in the partnership: “By alleviating illiteracy and building children holistically, we can create leaders who make a positive difference. We believe that training all education stakeholders in the Scientology Tools for Life will achieve the impact we need.”
