Sterling Training Secures Training Contracts For The British Army

Sterling Training has secured repeat contracts for the International Defence Training section of the British Army and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst to deliver their unique TILT training programme for Army instructors.

Southampton, England, United Kingdom – September 28, 2024

Back in 2016, the Land Warfare Centre (LWC) and Army Recruiting and Initial Training Command (ARITC) requested Sterling tailor and deliver our ‘Training the International Learner and Trainee’ (TILT) course to improve the experience of the international students and ease the instructors’ workload.

“This course addresses an identified gap in the instructors’ training. There is no doubt that the training will enhance the students’ experience, which will lead to better Defence Engagement.” said Lieutenant Colonel James Askew SO1 IDT(A)

Since then, Sterling Training has trained over 2,000 military and civilian instructors as well as a selection from the Navy and Air Force too!

The UK’s Armed Forces have an enviable reputation across the world for delivering high quality military education, both at home and abroad. Around 1,500 military students from over 100 countries attend training with the British Army in the UK every year, and teams of expert instructors are also sent overseas to work with partner forces. TILT fills an identified gap in instructor development, related to delivering effectively for mixed and single nationality groups.

Sterling Training is also very proud to have TILT contracts with several other sections of the Army, including Army Special Ops Brigade (Rangers) too.

About Sterling Training

Most organisations report little long-term impact from training. Sterling Training aims to provide training methods that create real long-term change. They strive to provide a real return on investment which delivers support for the ongoing growth of an organisation.

By drawing on their considerable experience, Sterling’s experts facilitate powerful training using learner-centered techniques. This enables training to connect deeply with delegates, reinforcing their current knowledge and  building new skills on these firm foundations. According to Sterling, a learner-centred approach has a dramatic impact on how much content is retained, because it’s engaging, energising and the participants are drivers, not passengers, in their learning.
