Appleton, WI Caterers Branch Out In Support Of Community Benefit Tree Event
Over 15 Appleton, WI area caterers are branching out into the community in support of local non-profit organization, Community Benefit Tree, for the group’s annual Celebrate Life fundraiser. Community Benefit Tree provides much-needed support and financial assistance to individuals and families experiencing a medical crisis.

Celebrate Life is an annual charity fundraiser hosted by non-profit organization, Community Benefit Tree. The local organization dedicates its resources to assisting individuals and families in medical crisis, offering a variety of support resources and financial assistance for those in need. Among this year’s event highlights will be a life-size Game of Life and catering provided by more than 15 area restaurants and caterers, featuring a largely international theme among the variety of culinary offerings.
Among the Appleton, WI restaurants that will be in attendance at November’s Celebrate Life event is the ever-popular Osorio’s Latin Fusion. Known locally for on-site events such as their unique and well-attended monthly pairing dinners, Osorio’s has only recently branched out into the area of off-site catering in Appleton and surrounding communities.
“We’re taking this show on the road!” says a characteristically enthusiastic Kim Finnell, co-owner and general manager of Osorio’s Latin Fusion, as she gestures toward the dynamic catering trailer emblazoned with the Appleton restaurant‘s signature sun logo. On a business note, she explains, “The addition of our mobile catering department means that we can bring our signature fusion flair directly to our customers, catering to groups of anywhere from 25-500 people; indoors, outdoors, weddings, meetings, family reunions – in this case, we are proud to be able to contribute to a wonderful cause in our community such as the Celebrate Life event. This community has been super supportive of us since the very beginning, and we’re ecstatic to be able to give a little something back.”
According to the Centers for Disease Control, up to one-third of American families struggle financially due to costs associated with necessary medical care. A medical crisis can be financially debilitating to an entire family, and that, of course, is just one area where support is needed to see that family through an intensely difficult time. Community Benefit Tree assists individuals and families in medical crisis by providing education, support, financial assistance and other important resources. The upcoming Celebrate Life event is just one of the organization’s many community outreach efforts designed to increase awareness of this need and raise funds to support those who need it most.
Aside from Community Benefit Tree’s several public fundraisers staged throughout the year, the charitable organization raises funds for individual recipients through the Celebration of Support program. Through this innovative program, staff works directly with family, friends and co-workers to organize a one-day event to raise immediate funds for living and medical expenses.
Of Community Benefit Tree’s cause, a thoughtful Kim Finnell states, “We’ve all been touched by a medical crisis in some way. There’s a real need in this community – in every community, I’m sure – for the kind of support this amazing organization offers. The Celebrate Life event will happen on Tuesday, November 10th, 2015 from 5-9 pm at Grand Meridian, located at 2621 N. Oneida St., Appleton, WI 54911. Tickets to this event are $35 in advance or $40 at the door and include food, games – including the life-size Game of Life – and goodies.
