“As women get older, it is very common for their hair to noticeably thin,” says Robson. “Men usually experience hair loss in a pattern, whereas women will often have an overall thinning of their hair. When it comes to hair loss caused by genetics, supplements can only have so much of an effect. Hair transplants are really the only treatment that can restore a large volume of hair.”

Nonetheless, Robson notes that the treatment can be very effective for women and should be considered by any women suffering from thinning hair. “It really depends on your type of hair loss,” he says. “Some women may experience mild hair loss that can be treated with supplements or lotions, while others may really need a hair transplant to correct the problem. The most important thing is to see a hair specialist who can determine what the best treatment option is for you.”
