Creator of Hazmat Hero Launches Kickstarter Campaign
Joseph Mitchell, the creator of Hazmat Hero, an Android application to help safely ship hazardous materials, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for development.
Joseph Mitchell, the creator of Hazmat Hero, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the development and distribution of this app. Mitchell launched an earlier version of Hazmat Hero that was very successful in helping the transportation industry ship hazardous materials safely. Now, he wants to re-release his updated app to provide Hazmat Hero to a wider audience.
The funds will be used to rename and redesign the application, including new artwork and logo. The Kickstarter funds will also be used to pay for legal fees and development costs to protect the technology of Hazmat Hero.
According to the creator, “This application is a stepping stone to make our roads a little safer. I drove truck for 15 years and it’s really amazing how many times a trailer is incorrectly marked, not because somebody is careless, but because there is just too much information up for interpretation. We are people, we make mistakes. This application also advises what hazmat cargo can be loaded with other hazmat cargo. It also advises if the hazmat cargo needs to be separated from other hazmat cargo. My vision is that I want to make the problem of hazardous materials a problem of the past. I want our roads to become a safe haven for everyone that travels them. I want to see the money spent yearly in fines to the Department of Transportation become money that could be put in the pockets of people who actually need it or deserve it.”
As seen at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/832337632/bring-back-hazmat-hero, the Kickstarter campaign offers pledge levels from $1 to $10,000, with prizes ranging from t-shirts to advertisement opportunities on the app. For more information about the individual rewards associated with each pledge level, visit the Kickstarter page.
