Sexual Assault Attorneys File Complaint Against New Jersey School District Board Of Education
January 04, 2016 – – AbuseGuardian.com reports on a complaint of sexual assault of a minor filed on December 2, 2013 in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Camden County. One of the defendants named is Pine Hill School District Board of Education and the case number is L4862-13.
The Plaintiff was age 13 when she was a guest at the home of Defendants Carole and David Marantz and their minor daughter, defendant, Allison Marantz. While under the Defendant’s supervision David Marantz engaged and was convicted of inappropriate sexual misconduct with a minor child. The complaint states that David Marantz had previously been engaged in inappropriate sexual misconduct with a minor prior to this complaint.
Following this assault the Plaintiff began attending Overbrook Senior High School from September 2009 to July 2012. Allison Marantz also attended this school and during their time there allegedly caused the Plaintiff severe and extreme emotional distress, manifesting itself in physical injury and mental agony, as a result of Marantz’s harassment and bullying. According to the complaint, Overbrook H.S., a part of defendant Pine Hill School District Board of Education, while notified of the harassment both orally and written, failed to provide a safe learning environment, failed to stop, remedy or appropriately handle the bullying.
The Plaintiff has suffered greatly and continues to suffer from the alleged negligence of the defendant and the defendants “acted in total disregard of her mental and physical well-being, leading to her serious injuries, medical treatment, pain and suffering, diminished capacity to earn, and ongoing medical expenses,” states the complaint.
