According to Amorose, he first started buying WWE championship belts and decorating them to fit his school’s theme, the Oakliff Eagles. Amorose initially created three belts–the Academics belt, the behavior belt, and the writing belt–and awarded them to deserving students each week. In addition to them being excited to receive the belts, he noticed that they were working hard to be the champion of the week.

However, the belts began to break down over time because Amorose’s students would walk to specials, lunch, and the bus with the belts over their shoulders. Since he had to replace and redesign them constantly, Amorose decided to take his campaign to Kickstarter, where he seeks the necessary funds to get real WWE championship belts made. In exchange for the public’s support, Amorose is sending his backers individual, handwritten thank-you notes.

“It takes a village to raise children, not only at home, but at school as well,” said Amorose. “Let us all be generation changers and help change students lives even if it is for a week with these real belts that they can be proud to wear.”
