After Injury Of Salt Lake City Construction Workers, Construction Accident Lawyer Hopes For Change
July 02, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com’s Thomas Moverman stated recently that the injury of two construction workers in Salt Lake City is yet another example of the safety issues facing the construction industry. In wishing the two men a quick recovery, Moverman noted that a change must be made.
Good4Utah.com reported the incident earlier this month stating that the two men had been operating scissor lifts when the accident occurred. The men had suffered injuries on the sixth floor of the building, which had been under construction at the time. First responders performed rescue carry operations to get them out of the building and they were taken by ambulance to a nearby trauma center for various injuries, they reported.
Injuries such as these are far from uncommon. Several types of injuries can occur while construction workers are on the job, usually resulting from incidents such as slips, trips or falls, scaffolding accidents, and ladder falls. Lacerations, bruises, spinal injuries, brain injuries, and broken or fractured bones can often result from frequent accidents. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) reports that 4,821 workers were killed on the job in 2014. One in five of those deaths were in the construction industry.
Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman have been representing victims of construction accidents for years. In one case, Attorney Thomas Moverman won a victim $2.6 million for a worker who injured his knee and back in a fall from defective scaffolding. The firm has successfully obtained millions in settlements for those victims and strongly believes in fighting for the compensation victims need and deserve. Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman is currently looking to assist those individuals who have been injured in a construction accident and qualifying individuals may be entitled to financial compensation.
