Announcing New Association for Rideshare Drivers in US: American Association of Independent Rideshare Drivers (AAIRD)
SCOTTSDALE, AZ / ACCESSWIRE / October 12, 2015 / American Association of Independent Rideshare Drivers (AAIRD) is an association for independent rideshare drivers who provide independent transportation services for companies like; Uber, Lyft, Sidecar, Postmates, and others that provide rideshare applications to consumers, via smartphones. Located in Scottsdale, AZ, AAIRD is a for profit business focused on providing a platform where independent rideshare drivers can gather to obtain “Best business practices”, advice, services, discounts, and more. We support the advancement of the “Sharing” community. Business, the public, and our driver members all win when the free market is allowed to operate and there is robust consumer choice.
AAIRD will utilize a board of directors made up from membership, who will determine expenditures geared towards supporting the “Mission Statement,” which is “Helping Rideshare Drivers Succeed in Their Independent Business.” Currently, we estimate approximately 200,000 rideshare drivers in the US. We also hope to create a place where rideshare companies compete for drivers services.
Rideshare services have been challenged by governments and taxi companies who allege that its use of drivers who are not licensed to drive taxicabs is unsafe and illegal. Another goal will be to address these challenges, offer certification classes, and educate the general public. Members will receive an AAIRD decal to display on their vehicle, demonstrating their commitment to professionalism, safety, and high ethical standards. The board may decide to hire lobbyists and attorneys to protect and further the opportunity available to rideshare drivers on a federal, state, and local level.
