As E-Cig Lawsuit Filings Continue, A Tennessee Man Recovers From Burns Resulting From E-Cigarette Explosion

May 26, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com reports on an article by Fox59 which discusses a recent incident involving a man who was severely burned at a gas station in Kentucky after his e-cigarette exploded in his pocket. The report states that the incident was caught on surveillance camera at a Shell gas station in Owensboro, Kentucky in late February. The man had reached into his pocket to give the cashier money when there was a sudden blast and his pants caught fire. He then ran outside trying to remove the burning pants and a customer later drove him to the hospital. He suffered second-degree burns on his leg.

Similar explosions have been reported in several states including Oklahoma, New York, Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida, California, Utah and Colorado. One such incident in Oklahoma was reported in April when a 19-year-old man said his e-cigarette ignited after some coins that were in his pocket with the device shifted around. He suffered second and third-degree burns from the incident.
