Attorney Jeffrey Phillips Takes On Complex Personal Injury Case
PHOENIX, AZ / ACCESSWIRE / December 2, 2015 / Phillips Law has revealed that they have taken on a complex personal injury case involving a minor. The boy, who is identified here as ‘DD’ for privacy reasons, was injured when he was a passenger in his friend’s car. The friend drove at an excessive speed and rear ended a school bus. This resulted in DD sustaining significant injuries, which required him to remain in the hospital for an extended period of time. He also required surgical intervention.
“We are committed to making sure people who have sustained injuries that aren’t their fault are properly represented and compensated in the eyes of the law,” says Jeffrey Phillips from Phillips Law. “DD’s case is a particularly difficult one, due to DD’s status as a minor and due to the defendant actually being his friend. DD’s family long considered not actually taking any legal action, but due to the extent of their medical bills, they have now decided it is the only way forward.”
The accident happened in Tombstone, Arizona. The bus was at a standstill when it was rear ended by DD’s friend, with DD and two other students as passengers. The four occupants were all on their way to school. The driver required some hospitalization, but DD had to be extracted and flown to a more specialized hospital. They other two did not sustain any injuries, nor did anyone on the school bus, with the exception of one child who suffered some minor injuries.
“DD’s injuries were pretty significant,” adds Jeffrey Phillips. “A Facebook page was set up in his name asking for prayers, which attracted a lot of attention. The community actually came together to raise funds for DD’s treatment and to help his family. Much of this fundraising has been done by students at his school. While this is heartwarming, we feel that proper legal counsel will help make sure that he actually gets the compensation he deserves.”
The cause of the accident remains under investigation and it is expected that the Arizona Department of Public Safety will make a statement about that in the near future. Their report may influence how Jeffrey Phillips and Phillips Law Group will present DD’s case.
