Award-winning Filmmaker Couple Make ‘dramedy’ About Life After Infertility

Ryan & Jennica Schwartzman, writers & filmmaker couple, turn to alternative funding sources for their dramedy feature film, PARKER’S ANCHOR; a story of loss, identity, & starting over. Inspired by true events, they seek to connect with their audience and spread awareness about the many ways to form a family.

HOLLYWOOD, CA – Scheduled to film in Picturesque Northwest Arkansas Dec 31-Jan 16. Award-Winning Director Marc Hampson will brave the cold with his crew from all over the country to tell this story of a woman lost & found. Marc Hampson has been asked by production company ‘Purpose Pictures’ (a small Hollywood-based production company made up of husband & wife team Ryan & Jennica Schwartzman) to come on board after their successful journey together for the road-trip feature “Gordon Family Tree” (released in March of 2014, having raised over $50,000 on Kickstarter.com in 2012).

Kickstarter is a crowd-funding website that independent filmmakers from all over the world are turning to for unique financial support. Ryan & Jennica Schwartzman have Produced 2 successful Kickstarter funded projects and have launched a third TODAY, August 17th that will last until October 16th at 5pm PST. The filmmakers seek support from potential audiences to check out their film’s registered page on Kickstarter.com to read more about how they can get involved. The Schwartzmans are offering contributors unique incentives like: writing your own line of dialogue for the actors to say in the movie, receive a limited addition comic book made just for the movie, have a drawing of your face appear in the film, one-on-one career coaching with their casting director, “The Art of Parker’s Anchor” book of art/sketches/design inspiration used for the film, have your name mentioned in the finished film, a one-of-a-kind tattoo designed just for you by our resident tattoo artist who worked on the film, or get the whole ‘Purpose Pictures’ film collection of features including “Parker’s Anchor.”

Producer Ryan Schwartzman shared that “Director Marc Hampson has a unique visual perspective that when working with Cinematographer Paul Olson- we cannot imagine a better team.” Marc Hampson’s style was featured most recently in the Award-winning thriller “The Man In The Trunk” which is still on the festival circuit.

Purpose Pictures’ “Parker’s Anchor” stars Jennica Schwartzman, the appealing, scene-stealing actress from “Gordon Family Tree.” This is not her first rodeo with Director Marc Hampson- she also stars in his Award-Winning music-centered indie “Before The Lights Come Up” that took home “Best of Fest” at its World Premiere at Offshoot Film Fest (2016 release). “I feel very safe working with Marc, I trust his vision on set & in the editing room, I know I’m going to be moved by the journey” Jennica added. Krystal Parker’s best friend is played by actress Amy Argyle from the upcoming thriller “Frank & Lola” (Imogene Poots, Michael Shannon, Justin Long) and “Gone” (Amanda Seyfried, Wes Bentley). Also, Actress/Comedian/& Bestselling “Life As I Blow It” & newly released “Has Anyone Seen My Pants” author Sarah Colonna from “Chelsea Lately” will bring her comedic genius to the set. They are joined by actor Brandon Keener of “The Guilt Trip,” “Zoo Keeper,” “He’s Just Not That Into You,” and “Catch Me If You Can.”

The story of “Parker’s Anchor” follows Krystal Parker, who discovers late in adulthood that she is unable to have kids. The news slowly destroys her marriage; she moves back ‘home’ and leans on the support of her high school best friend. Krystal starts over – but is she really starting over? Or was this the plan for her life all along? This film is about relationships, struggling with identity, & letting go of plans.

Partnering with producer & three-time Primetime Emmy-nominated Casting Director Elizabeth Barnes, CSA & Marc Hampson’s production company Brotherhood Pictures, the filmmakers are excited to attract the talent and female driven brands to complete the team. This film is a personal project inspired by true events close to the writers. The filmmakers invite women’s rights advocates, adoption advocates, infertility awareness groups, and interested parties to inquire how they may partner with this exciting film.
