Covering three-acres and containing over 120,000 sq. ft., MatchPoint NYC offers an impressive array of equipment and amenities, including a restaurant and a juice bar.
NEW YORK, NY – May 12, 2017 /MarketersMedia/ —
In 2013, entrepreneur Dmitry Druzhinsky co-founded MatchPoint NYC, a luxury sports center, after being inspired by his passion for athletics and dedication to South Brooklyn and Coney Island, an area previously lacking in recreational infrastructure. Druzhinsky’s dedication to providing New York’s preeminent fitness experience has resulted in the complex becoming the preferred venue of families, professional athletes, charity events, and world-class tournaments.
Covering three-acres and containing over 120,000 sq. ft., MatchPoint NYC offers an impressive array of equipment and amenities, including a restaurant and a juice bar. Its most notable feature is an expansive, nine court indoor tennis arena, the largest of its kind in Brooklyn. Local and international tennis greats frequent the grounds, including Kazakhstan’s Aleksandr Nedovyesv and the former number one women’s player in the world, Dinara Safina. The R Baby Foundation, a charity aiding hospital programs for endangered infants, has chosen MatchPoint as the location for its New York Tennis Tournament for two consecutive years. The competition is played by Wall Street’s elite financers and has raised over $500,000.
The center’s rhythmic gymnastics center, basketball court, Yoga studio, and full size gym with top of the line equipment allow it to accommodate for athletic events that other sports clubs simply cannot. The USA SAMBO Open Championship, a gathering of the world’s masters of Sambo and Judo, had participants from twelve different countries, and determined the World Champion of the sport. In a community outreach initiative, politicians from Brooklyn and the Bronx competed in the Johnny Ray Memorial Pro Wall Ball Tournament, an event used as a platform for the local leaders to speak about the importance of public health and youth empowerment.
MatchPoint NYC offers youth and adult swimming lessons in its Junior Olympic pool and Kids Aquatic Center, a favorite program of local residents. Attendees range from toddlers to aspiring Olympians, and led by coach Konstantin Petrov, Druzhinsky believes they are in good hands, “Konstantin currently holds a Level 4 Certificate from the American Swimming Coaching Association, placing him in the top five percentile of all coaches in the country.” The former Olympic Bronze medalist brings more than thirty years of experience on the local, national, and international scale.
Dmitry Druzhinsky is a South Brooklyn entrepreneur, philanthropist, and avid tennis enthusiast. He was inspired by his love for the sport to co-found MatchPoint NYC, an impressive $20 million project located in Coney Island – the largest in Brooklyn and second largest in all of New York. The luxury sports complex contains state of the art fitness facilities for a diverse array of recreational and professional purposes, including tennis, swimming, gymnastics, basketball, MMA, and weightlifting. Over one hundred classes are offered each week in three group fitness studios, ranging from a variety of topics including boot camp, yoga, and Pilates.
