Pure Dental Health, a leading provider of general, cosmetic and advanced dentistry in Cornwall, has announced the winners of the Pure 2020 Dream Smile competition. This year, instead of awarding the prize to one person, they have awarded it to three. Tracy, a nurse, Rachel, a nanny, and Julie, all from Cornwall, have won the opportunity to be given a brand new smile for free.
The Win A Dream Smile Competition
The team at Pure Dental Health decided to organise and run the first Pure Dream Smile Project contest in 2019, making their premium services available to a member of the public at no cost. The team saw the contest as an opportunity to give back to the community that supported them. They asked friends and families to nominate their loved ones. After the difficult process of shortlisting them, they chose Matt Coates as their winner.
Nominated by his son, Matt went through the full process of creating a new smile, including treatment planning that used scans, models, photos and a 3D scan. After identifying all the issues that needed to be addressed, they began the work of restoration. After the final reveal of Matt’s permanent restorations, the team at Pure Dental Health realised the overwhelmingly positive impact the contest had on his self-confidence and quality of life.
The contest returns
Given the positive reception to the Pure Dream Smile Project, the team did not wait long before running it again. After announcing the contest at the end of 2019, they received over 250 applications, with many inspired by Matt’s story of transformation. The team looked over every single nomination, whittling their choices down to 9 finalists before they could finally choose their winner.
“We wanted to run it again because of the impact it had on Matt and his life and we thought we could help other people and so we decided to run it in 2020,” says Mark Durnall, Principal Dentist at Pure Dental Health. “When we sat down with all the finalists, it was a bit too emotional to say no, really.”
Tracy, Rachel, and Julie, all from Cornwall, were selected to have a brand new smile restored for each of them at no cost. From damage caused by past substance abuse to a childhood issue of teeth growing without enamel, you can learn more about their story by watching the award reveal video on the Pure Dental Health website.
Updates on Tracy, Rachel, and Julie’s progress and treatments, and their eventual results, will be published throughout the year on the Pure Dental Health blog, as well as on their Facebook and website.
