Duothirst Introduces 2 Drinks in 1 Sports Bottle

Duothirst is a sports bottle that carries 2 drinks which can be drunk through the same spout either separately or together

The bottle features a divider that separates the internal space into 2 equal portions. Duothirst was created 2 years ago when McKeown grew tired of lugging around 2 separate water bottles during his workouts. While most athletes require both water and an electrolyte-based drink, McKeown realized that a dual capacity sports bottle was an elegant solution that many people could benefit from.

“Convenience is one of the core principles we designed Duothirst around. Its elegant design gives you practicality, flexibility and choice every time you use it. We truly believe that Duothirst delivers this like no other bottle out there,” says McKeown.

Duothirst holds a total capacity of 800ml (27 US fluid oz.), with each half holding 400ml (13.5 US fluid oz.). It is BPA free, and since cyclist promise to be one of Duothirst’s biggest users, it fits into all standard water bottle cages with a the lid can be bit down upon to move the pour spout from one drink to the next.

A visually appealing design was one of the forefront goals of McKeown during the prototyping of Duothirst. He ended up with a bottle that when viewed from the side looks like an infinity symbol running vertically down the center. When liquid is poured in, it gives the bottle an artistic feel that turns heads while it hydrates.

Now that initial prototyping is complete, McKeown and his team are ready to move into final DFM and tooling production. Since this is often the most costly phase of product development, they have taken Duothirst to Kickstarter where they seek backers to help fund the project.
