Monday 15th February. UK: London-based entrepreneur Gareth A Boyd has proudly announced the acquisition of Dutch fabrics startup Cruggle for an undisclosed fee to boost a growing collection of online consumer retail brands.

Boyd’s exciting expansion into a new territory

Boyd has previous experience of buying small retail stores and growing them into large concerns, and that track record promises to provide excellent grounding for the latest acquisition. The high-quality products certainly have the credentials to follow in the footsteps of Boyd’s previous success stories.

After completing the acquisition of Cruggle for an undisclosed fee, Boyd revealed his excitement at the prospect of transforming the brand into a global leader in the clothing for outdoor adventures arena. The new owner said of the deal: “We have an existing portfolio of retail outlets online and believe this addition will help grow our business into a growing industry. The outdoor market is growing hugely thanks to Covid and the product we are bringing to the consumer is completely different at very competitive prices.”

While Boyd’s blueprint for transforming retail outlets into much larger companies will lay the foundation for success, the chance to step foot into the outdoor consumer clothing industry at its most exciting time signals a major coup for the entrepreneur.

The Dutch startup already produces fabrics for various outdoor companies, varying military training outfits, and hunting groups gear. Boyd’s plans to build on that success by taking the Cruggle brand to a far larger audience of online consumers could revolutionise the outdoor clothing marketplace forever.

At the heart of those aspirations is the Cruggle Adventure pants. The water-resistant, tear-resistant, and highly durable explorer trousers are perfect for camping, hiking, and a host of other outdoor activities. The range is currently available in multiple colours (black, khaki, green, and grey) as well as a choice of slim fit or regular fit. Plans of further expansion are already on the table following immediate success with online consumers hoping to enhance their future outdoor adventures.

While their look and feel are attractive features, the key attributes of the Cruggle pants are the durability that prevent ripping even when caught by blades, barbed wire, and sharp objects in nature. Their ability to protect the user with unmatched reliability makes them a truly stunning product. It’s something that Boyd has quickly acknowledged, setting out on a new and exciting chapter for one of the most exciting brands in his growing portfolio. The manufacturing processes continue to be stationed in the Netherlands, but the company now has a global appeal.

Cruggle has also quickly established its place as a sustainable company, becoming a reforestation partner of the One Tree Planted scheme. Through a combination of the startup’s initial triumphs and Boyd’s vision, the brand has quickly taken the industry by storm.
