E-Cigarette Explosion Causes Orange County Man To Lose Eye, Induces Potential E-Cig Explosion Lawsuit Cases

July 01, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com’s attorney Marc Freund recently commented on a development in Orange County, California, where a local man lost his eye after his e-cigarette exploded during use. Freund sends the victim his best wishes and hopes that the victim seeks legal justice for the damages he sustained when his e-cigarette permanently injured him. Freund hopes that this devastating case will serve as an example to potential e-cigarette consumers of the possible dangers that they face while using the devices.

As indicated in a local report by NBC Los Angeles, a local Orange County man lost his eye after his e-cigarette exploded and propelled debris at his head, consequently, severely injuring his left eye, and breaking his orbital and sinus bones. The victim hopes that his experience and permanent visual impairment will serve as an example to other e-cigarette users, as well as raise public awareness of the potential consequences that e-cigarettes can present to individuals. Shortly after this incident, California Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill to raise the smoking age from 18 to 21, which includes disallowing individuals under the age of 21 from purchasing tobacco products for chewing, smoking or vaping.

TheProductLawyers, com’s e-cigarette explosion timeline indicates that the April 15th Orange County incident is 1 of 19 reported e-cigarette explosion cases that occurred in California since 2009, representing nearly 10 percent of all reported e-cig explosions to date. Hopefully, with the implementation of the new bill, the occurrence of e-cig explosions in California will begin to decrease in frequency.
