Oklahoma City, United States – September 14, 2021 /MarketersMedia/ —
In 2020 the non-profit organization FEED the Children has:
Distributed approximately 87.8 million pounds of food and essential items worldwide to benefit more than 7.3 million people globally. Reached 5.6 million children and families in the United States with distributions of shelf-stable food and essential household items valued at more than $329 million. Benefited 1.7 million children and caregivers in the international communities where we work, providing more than 241,000 school-age children with regular, nutritious meals.
The charity has helped more than 17,000 teachers across 355 U.S. school districts with more than $3.7 million in teaching supplies as well as books valued at more than $7 million to reach more than 574,000 students. Provided more than 1.7 million pounds of food and supplies valued at more than $4.6 million to disaster-affected regions in the United States.
One of these children FEED The Children has helped is Elieza from Alaska.
“It really broke my heart when I saw my kids eating corn grits and dried fish most of the time,” Jennifer, Elieza’s mother, told us. “And there was a time I could hardly buy the school needs for our children because my husband has no permanent job. We could not even pay our house rental. It seems we really experience the tough hardships of life.”
Due to her hardships Feed The Children stepped in to provide school supplies and basic living items like shoes. Something Feed the Children thinks a first world government should already have made sure an ambitious child like Elieza would have access to.
Elieza says, “I am very thankful to FEED the Children that gave me importance and help in my studies, especially in providing me school supplies and shoes apart from the activities I had joined. Thank you too, for helping our fellow children in our school and community.”
