Global Drone Solutions is pleased to announce a formal partnership with WeRobotics.

Global Drone Solutions (GDS) are a Civil Aviation Safety Authority accredited drone pilot training company based in Australia. GDS offers a combination of online and classroom training necessary to obtain a remote pilot license. The online courses are designed to present only the most relevant current knowledge within this fast moving industry so that no-one gets left behind. Anyone taking any of the courses will have full confidence that they are receiving industry-leading CASA certification.

Mahmood Hussein, the CEO of GDS, is very generously providing the online component of the training for free to the growing network of Flying Labs in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Oceania. Hussein said, ‘we are very pleased with our partnership with WeRobotics, as it allows us to deliver on our company’s “why” which is “making a real-world difference through drones.” It also allows us to pay forward and us technology to make the World a better place.’

GDS chose WeRobotics for the partnership, as their goals are aligned. GDS wanted aid to reach disaster-affected communities more quickly, meet the health needs of remote communities more rapidly and help achieve sustainable development goals faster. Together with WeRobitics, GDS believe they can accelerate and scale the positive impact on these communities through the use of drones. In particular, both companies want to build on local capability through training programmes and courses.

Since the partnership between GDS and WeRobotics began in Sept 2018, the companies have trained pilots in FlyingLabs® in Tanzania, Kenya and South Pacific with another 15 Flying Labs taking the online training in early 2019. The online component focuses specifically on the theory section required for a drone pilot license. Upon completing this training, Flying Labs pilots are issued a certificate of completion by GDS, which already carries weight in the many countries in which Flying Labs operate. GDS are exploring ways to expand this meaningful collaboration further to bring additional services to the global network of Flying Labs.

GDS is very optimistic about the future of the partnership with WeRobotics. So far, the companies have worked fantastically well together and it seems that there is even more good work ahead in 2019.
