HealthTexas Medical Group Celebrates Grand Opening of San Pedro Clinic

HealthTexas Medical Group will celebrate the Grand Opening of its newest facility, the San Pedro Clinic at San Pedro and Marshall Ave. The community is invited to an open house from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 at 530 San Pedro Ave., 78212.

The 19,000-square-foot, primary care clinic includes 30 exam rooms, two laboratories, a pharmacy and enough space for 10 medical providers. Additionally, an 8,100-square-foot, community center will open later this year. The community center will become a hub not only for the Medical Group but also for the surrounding community with ample space to host educational events, health fairs, exercise groups and senior events.

“Currently HealthTexas has 2 clinic locations in the Downton area, both of which are in Medical Office Buildings and we have been able to provide quality care for many years. But when the opportunity arose to purchase this building, with such great space, and such a great location, we knew it would be a plus for our patients. Not only does it allow us to combine our talented clinicians and associates into a single location, it provides easy ground level access for our patients, free and secure parking in a modern clinic space. The visibility and easy access will also attract new patients through our doors.

The clinic will be staffed by Dr. Rowland Reyna, internal medicine; Dr. Steven Ramos, internal medicine; Dr. Andrine Grant, family medicine; and Dr. Aziz Tejani, internal medicine; with support from seasoned physician assistants, Benny Enriquez and Christian Aldrete.

HealthTexas Medical Group was established in 1994 by local physicians who recognized the need for primary care doctors to combine their passion, skills and resources to improve the health of the patients within the local community. Since then, HealthTexas has grown to include more than 60 healthcare providers in 16 primary care clinics in and around the San Antonio region all working toward that same goal

HealthTexas marked a milestone in its 25-year history when it named Dr. Kristi Clark as its first female president & CEO, in January 2019 following the retirement of founder, Dr. Richard Reyna.

HealthTexas also gives back to the local community as well as outside of San Antonio through volunteer service projects, such as helping build homes for Habitat for Humanity, sponsoring the UTSA Roadrunners football team, and assisting with relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Katrina and Mexico earthquakes of 2017 and 2018.
