Hedonova Exists Carbon Credit Co-Investment With 54% Annualised Returns

United States – August 19, 2023

Hedonova, a leading alternative investment firm, is excited to announce the successful co-investment opportunity it presented in the thriving carbon credit and sustainable agriculture sector. Through a strategic partnership with a prominent farming and forestry company, Hedonova provided its clients with a chance to make a positive impact on the environment while enjoying attractive financial returns.

In 2020, Hedonova made a significant investment in a farming and forestry company that operated an extensive 367,000-acre farmland portfolio across China, Thailand, India, and Vietnam. Leveraging its strong relationships with the farm owners, Hedonova previously provided growth capital, facilitated land expansion, and financed equipment purchases to support the farm’s sustainable practices.

The farm’s environmentally responsible operations enabled it to earn valuable carbon credits over the past three years, mainly through reforestation efforts. The issuance of carbon credits was contingent upon third-party auditor, Verra, verifying compliance with global standards. The credits were subsequently traded on carbon exchanges, presenting an opportunity for substantial profits.

To enable this co-investment opportunity, Hedonova lent $4 million to the farm, using the farm’s assets in India, conservatively valued at approximately $12 million, as collateral to secure the investment. The farm utilized this capital to upgrade machinery, including carbon dioxide sensors, and provide staff training in carbon compliance.

Following a comprehensive audit, completed by mid-August, the farm was issued approximately 260,000 carbon credits, valued at approximately $9 million. Hedonova subsequently sold these credits on the European carbon exchange, with the firm’s share of the proceeds amounting to $5.4 million.

Hedonova’s team of experts actively managed the investment to mitigate risks, including capital risk, volatility risk, and currency risk. Furthermore, specialist consultants were engaged to ensure compliance with global standards during the audit process.

The investment opportunity was open to individuals, IRAs, entities, and trusts, with a minimum investment of $10,000 and a maximum investment of $50,000 in increments of $10,000. Investors participated in this income sharing agreement, and Hedonova charged a 10% profit fee. The investment achieved a remarkable profit of 18.04%

“We were thrilled to offer our clients the chance to be part of this environmentally conscious and profitable investment venture,” said Alexander Cavendish, CEO of Hedonova. “By supporting sustainable practices and harnessing the potential of carbon credits, investors played a significant role in building a greener and more sustainable future while achieving attractive financial returns.”
