As a spokesperson for High Distinction Academy noted, many teachers and students are finding that they’re not able to use classroom time effectively with traditional methods. Typically, students rely on assigned reading and classroom lectures, but time constraints often mean that the topics cannot be addressed in greater depth.

“This stand-alone lecture and limited time for clarification can make many concepts difficult to grasp,” the spokesperson said, adding that High Distinction Academy is a high school tutoring center using a flipped classroom method to overcome this problem and use classroom time efficiently.

“Students will come to class after watching a pre-recorded lecture from their instructor. Time in the classroom can then be used to elaborate on important topics, interact with students, and ensure a full understanding of the material before moving on.”

High Distinction Academy aims to meet high standards. As the spokesperson noted, their staff consists of qualified and dedicated teachers to ensure students are getting an education that prepares them for higher education.

“Parents will also be kept involved through an online learning management system where they can view their child’s progress and attendance. The school also has a philanthropic mission and dedicates each term of the school year to a new cause,” the spokesperson said.

In order to help pay for the high costs associated with launching his new High Distinction Academy, Kost recently launched a fundraiser on Indiegogo. There, he hopes to raise $550,000 through crowdfunding and open the doors to his new tutoring center as soon as possible.
