According to a recent survey conducted by Ascend2, 89% of companies using content marketing are satisfied with the results, claiming that it works for generating traffic and leads. The survey ideally looked at the effectiveness of various content types as well as the metrics marketer employed to evaluate content marketing success.
Whether an individual is a CMO, CEO or just a person working in marketing, chances are you they’ve missed the most common refrain of this century’s marketing seminar; that is, ‘be a media firm and give valuable content to customers’
But it remains to be seen if firms have really benefited from content marketing. Well, if the lead generation and marketing research company Ascend2 survey results are correct, almost 9 out of 10 companies have benefited. The survey covered 290 marketers, sales and business experts from companies all over the globe.
Measurable results seems to be the name of the game and more than half of the respondents have considered improvement of customer engagement and lead generation to be the two most crucial marketing objectives. Only 19% of the respondents considered search engine ranking improvement as one of the most important objectives.
63 percent of them regarded their efforts in content marketing as ‘somewhat successful’ and 26 percent as ‘very successful’ in the achievement of important objectives. This means that 89 percent of the respondents thought that content marketing helped them in meeting their goals in marketing.
Ideally, the Content Marketing Trends Survey explored the success of the content type. Contrary to the popular belief, a picture did not seem to be worth a thousand words. Case studies and articles proved to be the most effective content type. On the other hand, videos were considered by many to be the hardest type of content to produce.
Although the survey respondents agreed that press releases are easy to produce, they considered them to be ineffective. That is why press releases come at the bottom as the most ineffective type of content.
The Virtual Studio Simulator package makes it easier for marketers to produce one of the most difficult types of content according to the survey, which is highly engaging videos.
