“My co-founder John carried around a vinyl green-and-white polka dot Kate Spade diaper bag for years. Clearly, it wasn’t aesthetically designed with dads in mind, but the bigger problem was it wasn’t all that functional. It lacked pockets for organizing the load of stuff you need to carry around as a new parent. It was too small, too tall and narrow, and had uncomfortable shoulder straps,” says Paul Zalewski, co-founder of Fathercraft on the inspiration behind the project. “We started thinking, ‘what would a diaper bag that was built from the ground up for dads look like?’ And that was the genesis of The Fathercraft Bag.”
