The architect design firm, StudioMa Architecture Inc., is pleased to announce that their firm has been formally certified as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business by the Veterans Affairs Administration. The Founder of StudioMa Architecture, Matteo Rapallini is now proudly recognized as an SDVOSB Architect. This distinction is not only rare among Charleston architecture firms but also architectural design consultants nationwide.

The Italian-born Matteo Rapallini is a disabled veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force during 9/11 and consequently served in the U.S. Army. After dedicating eight years to the military, Rapallini decided to pursue his lifelong dream of pioneering architecture. After earning his Master’s Degree at NC State University, where he subsequently taught as an Adjunct Studio Professor, Rapallini worked for a variety of enterprises before deciding to open his own innovative architecture firm.

“Matteo is unlike any other architect.” explained a StudioMa representative. “With experience in the military, fabrication industry and as a mechanic, he brings a unique set of skills to the table. He has experience not only designing but also in the construction industry and automobile mechanics. He has the ability to come up with practical yet creative design solutions on the fly. Matteo is the type of passionate architect that gets a design idea in the middle of dinner and starts sketching it on a napkin. His stylistic philosophy is analogous to award-winning architects such as Tom Kundig and Steven Holl. We are very proud of his new title as an SDVOSB Architect.”

Since launching in 2016, StudioMa Architecture Inc., has made an unprecedented name for itself in the industry. They are currently working on several notable high-end residential design projects on Kiawah Island, a commercial adaptive-reuse project in Charleston, and a mixed-use development in Summerville. Along with their recent certification as a SDVOSB Architect owned firm, StudioMa Architecture Inc., is constantly striving towards award-winning, sustainable design. StudioMa Architecture will also be the first Passive House Certified Architecture Firm in South Carolina.
