Miami Heat’s Chris Bosh Faces Another Blood Clot Scare As Xarelto Lawsuit Numbers Increase
March 09, 2016 – – BloodThinnerHelp.com reports on a new story from Business Insider which announces that famous baseketball star Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat is dealing with yet another blood clot scare. Although public announcements regarding his condition have yet to be made, the article notes that Bosh will likely spend the following days reviewing his options regarding his current playing status. The article states that “no determination will be made about his playing status until he goes through more tests and evaluation,” according to ‘a person with knowledge.’
This is not the first time that Bosh has suffered from blood clot worries. Although he is currently Miami’s leading scorer he continues to have health struggles. He was reportedly pulled from the All-Star Game and 3-point contest recently due to what was initially described as a ‘calf strain’. According to the article, last season as well Bosh, “…was shut down at the All-Star break…because a blood clot had found its way to one of his lungs, and that issue is something that Bosh believes started as a calf problem.
After the occurrence of his first blood clot, the player paired with Xarelto manufacturer Janssen Pharmaceuticals (a division of Johnson & Johnson) and became a spokesperson for blood clots. He reportedly began to take the blood thinner during this time for several months. It is noted as both uncommon and dangerous for a player in any type of contact sport to use a blood-thinning drug, and is generally not allowed.
Xarelto and manufacturers Janssen and Bayer have become topics of much recent controversy as well, as lawsuits continue to be filed regarding the alleged dangers of the anticoagulant. These lawsuits now number over 2,800 in a multidistrict litigation group (MDL 2592) in Eastern Louisiana, while more than 620 cases have now been consolidated by the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to form a mass tort group. Plaintiffs all similarly allege that the drug can cause sudden and extremely dangerous bleeding episodes in patients taking it, and that these episodes have also sometimes proved fatal.
Attorney Joseph Osborne is currently working to help assist anyone who has used Xarelto and who would like to evaluate their legal rights in the matter after suffering from health complications that they believe were caused by the drug. These individuals may be entitled to significant compensation and legal action. To help those deserving of justice pursue it more easily, Attorney Osborne is currently offering free legal consultations for affected parties.
