Musician Joel Olive Announces the Release of His First Solo Album ‘Door to the Archaic’

The New Album Features the Didgeridoo, Rudra Vina and Drums

Imagine the raw and primal sounds of the didgeridoo, the Rudra vina, and drums all mingled into one listening experience. Almost experimental in quality, the notes combine to create a style of music that is unlike anything music fans have ever heard before.

Olive is exploring the world of these archaic instruments to create a unique sound in his album “Door to the Archaic.”

“Even categorizing the music seems like an insurmountable task. It is ambient and rhythmic, and would be suitable for anything from meditation to dance,” noted a spokesperson for the new album, adding that Olive’s reverence for these instruments is seen in his dedication to the work.

“All of the music and vocals on the album are performed by this multitalented artist. This creative’s talent spans even beyond entertainment; he is a music therapist and has even created some of the instruments heard on the album.”

It has taken months for Olive to create the album, which is co-produced by award winning tribal-ambient drummer Byron Metcalf. Metcalf noted that he quickly took interest in the project, having been taken in by Olive’s unique sound.

In order to help pay for the production and marketing costs associated with creating “Door to the Archaic,” Olive recently launched a fundraiser on Indiegogo. He hopes to raise 2,500 Euros through crowdfunding. The album can be pre-ordered on Indiegogo, and backing the campaign offers amazing perks like a chance to see Joel Olive live, in a private show.
