New Skills Academy Announces Landmark Course In Teaching Assistant Diploma

March 26, 2019 – – New Skills Academy, the UK based provider of online courses and further education has announced it has reached a landmark in business. Unveiling their 450th course, the Level 2 Teaching Assistant Diploma, CEO Chris Morgan said it was a very proud moment and a huge achievement for their staff.

New Skills Academy has been offering online education since its launch in 2013. Chris Morgan who previously worked in the online education industry spotted a gap in the market where other online and offline educators were failing to provide what certain sections of their client base were asking for. New Skills Academy was launched to provide quality online training and education at affordable prices, specifically aimed at these sectors. Morgan was successful and 6 years on, they now offer 450 courses.

Responding to changes in demand, New Skills Academy reviews their course offerings on a regular basis. A spokesperson tells “New Skills Academy reviews course content regularly to keep pace with changes in technology, legislation and business practice.” In the education sector alone, there are frequent changes in areas such as child protection laws that must be reflected in the course content to ensure compliance.

Externally, national bodies such as the CPD Certification service carries out regular New Skills Academy reviews to ensure that the course content and associated qualifications meet the necessary standards for CPD (Continuing Professional Development). CPD is the term used to describe the learning activities professionals engages in to develop and enhance their abilities. CPD enables learning to become continuous and proactive, rather than passive and reactive.

New Skills Academy CEO Chris Morgan says, “We have over 450 courses and 100 New Skills Academy qualifications recognized by CPD. It has always been my goal that we would provide valuable course content that helps our students improve their skills and knowledge. That, in turn, helps them improve their careers. We are really proud that we have achieved that goal.”

The online learning and education industry is enjoying strong growth and here are a few reasons why that may be the case. Traditional classroom education has become more expensive. Schools and colleges have the fixed overhead of buildings and staff to consider. Traditional classroom-based education is scheduled to a timetable. Work schedules can make it difficult for those in full-time or part-time employment to attend timetabled classes. In addition, traditionally class-based courses have scheduled beginning and end dates which must be rigidly adhered to.

Online education students benefit from the flexibility that an online course can bring. Certainly, there are courses that adhere to a start and end date, but the student can regulate the pace at which the learning is consumed. Many online courses have no set start date so they can be taken up at any point in time. Very often online courses are priced much lower than the equivalent classroom-based course. This is simply due to the lower overheads enjoyed by the online educators, which are passed on as savings to the students. Students taking online courses have no need to travel for classes or exams. An internet connection and access to a computer or laptop are all that is required and the students can be completely location and time independent.
