Origami.org is a recently launched website that hopes to promote the fun and benefits of origami far and wide throughout the web. With a wide range of origami instructions, guides, and helpful tips, it aims to become the premiere spot to learn origami online.

United Kingdom – March 13, 2024

Aiming to operate as the online home of origami, Origami.org is a new website that is dedicated to the hobby that has been around for thousands of years. The site has recently grown after commissioning a professional occupational therapist to write a series of articles on the benefits of origami.

Alongside a wide range of guides, instructional step-by-step posts, and tips, the Origami.org website now features articles on the mental health benefits of origami, therapeutic benefits of origami, how origami can help with anxiety, autism, and ADHD, as well as how origami can help with executive functioning.

The new contributor to Origami.org, Maria Bautista has joined the small team of origami enthusiasts who created the website. She brings her experience as a paediatric Occupational Therapist who works with neurodivergent children and their families to expand on the whole host of benefits that origami can offer.

Occupational Therapist Maria Bautista said “Origami can be a great activity for individuals with anxiety, autism, and ADHD. The deliberate and rhythmic motions of folding origami paper serve as an active meditative practice and I often use origami in my occupational therapy sessions. The creations can also provide someone with feelings of pride and accomplishment.”

To get started with origami, the website has a large number of origami instructions available on the website that are suitable for beginners. It also offers informational posts on origami and its wider place in culture, such as the use of origami in education, origami’s appearances in architecture, and its cultural significance through practices like “senbazuru,” or the Japanese tradition of folding 1000 cranes.

The latest range of posts on Origami.org seeks to expand on the mental and emotional health benefits of practicing the traditional. This includes articles like “The Therapeutic Benefits of Origami in Occupational Therapy” and “How Origami Can Help with Anxiety, Autism, and ADHD.” These posts can serve as useful information for those who might to make use of the potential benefits of the art, or simply those who are curious to learn more about it.

Origami.org is continuously growing with new content, both instructional and informative, and those interested in the hobby are encouraged to follow it for the latest posts.
