This vegan bulletproof coffee recipe uses a coconut based oil instead of butter, ground flax seed, and Vitamin D fortified almond milk to replace the fat, omega 3s, and Vitamin D found in the grass fed butter that is used in the original bulletproof coffee. The added fat and omega 3s are meant to give the body an energetic boost first thing in the morning. The addition of maca is due to its vitamin and mineral content, including vitamins C, E and B, amino acids, zinc, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous and iron.
