Penn Foster Offers New Program for Careers in Growing Field of Hospitality Services

Penn Foster Launches New Guest Service Agent Career Diploma Program to Prepare Students for Entry-Level Positions in Hospitality Services

SCRANTON, PA / ACCESSWIRE / February 7, 2017 / Penn Foster Career School, a leading skills training provider focused on improving employability for workers across a range of in-demand fields, announced the launch of its Guest Service Agent Diploma Program. The program is a skills training solution designed to provide students with a strong background in hospitality skills and to prepare them for entry-level positions in higher-end hotels and resorts. Students customize their learning by choosing a focused path within hospitality including: Food & Beverage; Hospitality Leadership/Supervision; Hospitality Human Resources; and Hotel Alternatives.

The regionally and nationally accredited Guest Service Agent program was developed by industry experts with backgrounds in customer service and management roles with brands like Hyatt and MGM Resorts. The program covers an array of competencies in guest service agent responsibilities including: common practices within the hotel/hospitality industry; professional conduct and appearance; hospitality technology; equipment and accounting; front desk procedures; problem solving; and effective communication and customer service techniques in the guest services role. Students in the program will have the opportunity for a Work Experience Option to gain first-hand experience while still in the program. Upon completion of the diploma program, students will have the option to continue advancing their education with Penn Foster’s Hotel and Restaurant Management or Travel and Tourism Specialist career diploma programs as well as degree offerings in Business Management or Retail Management.
