Security Team Launches First-Ever Cannabis Industry Intelligence Program

Cannabis Protective Intelligence Network System (CPINS) Fills Major Industry Void with Collaborative Intelligence, Reporting and Investigative Platform

DENVER, CO / ACCESSWIRE / June 25, 2015 / Sy Alli, Director of Corporate Security for Dixie Brands Inc., has partnered with Bryan Fath, President of Seattle/Tacoma-based Olympus Consulting Group, to create the world’s first protective intelligence program developed exclusively for the cannabis industry. Designed to fill a significant information gap in what has historically been a “below the radar” industry, the Cannabis Protective Intelligence Network System (CPINS) will provide valuable subscription intelligence services to Cannabis related businesses. Typical of services offered in other industries that have high potential for theft and crime, the subscription will allow participating companies access to security concerns both locally, and nationally, related to their business. In addition, they will have access to CPINS investigative teams and resources along with basic services such as employee verification and background checks. These comprehensive services will allow cannabis businesses to staff appropriately and approach the safety and security of their employees and company assets, in a proactive rather than reactive fashion.

“The cannabis space has lacked a sufficient forum to create and share valuable security intelligence involving the day-to-day operations of the cannabis industry,” Alli said. “The simple things, such as employees being terminated for theft and being allowed to move on to another cannabis company, these are the types of actions that should be cataloged and noted throughout the cannabis space.”

“This intelligence program is unique to the cannabis industry in part because law enforcement and cannabis business owners can be hesitant to engage with one another,” commented Fath. “The CPINS program will bridge that gap and will bring real value to both sides of that equation, as all cannabis businesses enrolled in CPINS will have constant access to information that is critical to the security and safety of their respective operations.”

CPINS Offering

Companies that enroll in the CPINS program will have two options/price points to choose from initially. Both Tiers (listed below) will include baseline services of suspicious activity reporting, suspicious vehicle tracking, cannabis industry news and asset protection/loss prevention program development.

Additional inclusions are as follows:

Tier 1: $500/mo ($1,180 value)
– 20 background checks
– 30 vehicle plate checks

Tier 2: $1,500/mo ($2,815 value)
– 15 hours of investigation included
– 30 background checks
– 40 plate checks

“As one of the more visible companies in the cannabis space, security has always been a top concern for Dixie,” said Tripp Keber, CEO of Dixie Brands, Inc. “We are very proud to be a partner and founding member of CPINS, and to share this incredibly important platform that was developed in part by Dixie’s Director of Corporate Security, with the rest of the industry. It is through the safety, compliance and proactive thinking offered by CPINS that our industry and those within it, will achieve true security and long-term success.”

Alli and Fath are available for interviews on the security needs of the cannabis industry. The two have a combined 40 years in the security and protective services industry and are both currently involved in providing security and consulting in the cannabis industry.
