Ticket Shortage for â21 Under 21â Artists Rae Sremmurdâs âThe Real Showâ
A spokesman from ConcertBank says fans who want to see Rae Sremmurd at The Real Show in Los Angeles better act quickly if they want seats to the show.
Los Angeles, CA, United States – October 26, 2015 /PressCable/ —
Rapping brothers Khalif “Swae Lee” Khalif, 20, and Aaquil “Slim Jimmy” Brown, 21, will cap off a spectacular year of touring and recording by taking the stage as part of “The Real Show” on November 8, at The Forum – Los Angeles. The brothers, known as Rae Sremmurd collectively, take the stage alongside acts that include Kendrick Lamar, Future and Jeremih & Fatty Wap.
The concert wraps up a year in which Rae Sremmurd (pronounced ray shre’ murd) has been named to nearly every up-and-coming artist list in existence, including Billboard’s 21 Under 21 and Glamour magazine’s Best New Artists of 2015. In the past year, they’ve charted with a breakout single, “No Flex Zone,” which has been sampled by nearly every major artist in the business, and followed it up with two more hit singles and a debut EP, SremmLife, on their Ear Drummers label. The duo’s latest single, Throw Some Mo’, features the talents of Young Thug and rap sensation Nikki Minaj.
Their young age and the quick succession of their hits has most of the rap world thinking of the duo as overnight sensations, but nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, Rae Srhummerd – which is the name of their record label spelled backwards – is just the latest iteration of the young brothers’ talents.
“We’ve been grinding for about eight years,” Jimmy explained. “We learned engineering and how to make beats (on our own). We used to host DJ and host parties for fun, not even knowing it could be a real career.”
When the singer says they were “grinding,” he means it quite literally. On the way to their critically acclaimed EP – it’s garnered kudos from no less than Kanye West and Nikki Minaj, among others – they spent time homeless and hungry, but got their big break when they met P-Nasty, of Atlanta label Eardrummers Entertainment. He introduced them to Mike Will Made-it, the producer behind such megahits as Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop” and Juicy J’s “Bandz a Make Her Dance,” and the rest his history. Will heard something he liked in the duo’s sound and he signed them immediately to Ear Drummers. His personal interest in the young brothers extends to having produced most of the tracks on SremLife himself.
It’s not just music mags that love the young duo. Forbes magazine profiled the brothers in the early spring, referring to them as hip-hop’s hottest young duo and Cash Princes, on a par with producer Mike Will. Indeed, just a few months after dropping their first EP – with beats provided by Will – the pair are getting an estimated $25,000 for a solo appearance, and their single No Flex Zone has wrapped up 89 million views on YouTube, which is just a drop in the bucket compared to their follow-up single, No Type, which had hit 169 million and still rising in early March. Their January release, Sremlife, made a more modest start sales wise, though it debuted at #1 on the R&B Charts on Billboard.
The Real Show, sponsored by L.A. radio station REAL 92.3, L.A’s hip-hop station, features a lineup of the hottest artists to grace the stage anywhere this year, and tickets are understandably in short supply. “Fans looking for Rae Sremmurd concert tickets will do better if they check out third-party concert ticket sites,” says a spokesperson for ConcertBank.com. “There are currently tickets available in every section,” the spokesperson said, “but they’re going fast.” The inventory of available concert tickets for sale turns over frequently, so fans should check back often if they don’t find what they need, and be prepared to pay a premium for rare and sold-out concert tickets.
