TMS Announces Joint Production Testing with Nestle Purina

Vancouver, BC / ACCESSWIRE / December 2, 2015 / Targeted Microwave Solutions Inc. (CSE: TMS; OTCQX: TGTMF) (“TMS” or the “Company“) is pleased to announce that Nestle-Purina issued today a commitment letter approving joint commercial production testing for montmorillonite clay at TMS’s commercial demonstration plant in King William, Virginia (the “TMS Plant“). Montmorillonite clay is used by Nestle-Purina at its cat litter facility in King William, which is directly adjacent to the TMS Plant.

As part of the joint production testing, Nestle-Purina has committed to providing TMS with heavy equipment, testing material, engineering and technical support. Testing is currently scheduled to commence in or about the second week of this month.

The decision to conduct joint commercial tests follows several positive preliminary batch microwave tests of the clay in October and November of this year, at which time TMS hosted a delegation of Nestle-Purina engineers. Initial batch tests indicated rapid drying and physical alteration of the clay, which could offer significant energy savings and environmental benefits in the clay drying process. The primary objectives of the joint tests currently include: evaluating TMS throughput capabilities; plotting energy consumption and optimal drying ratios; typifying the extent and nature of physical alteration; and economic analysis of cost savings.

Chairman Dr. James Young remarked: “The U.S. cat litter market is in the billions of dollars, and TMS is very excited about the opportunity of our technology tapping in to this lucrative market. It was always the design of both parties that the TMS Plant be strategically placed next to Nestle-Purina’s cat litter facility in King William, so that we could, when we were ready, explore the application of the TMS technology to the various minerals and raw aggregates that Nestle-Purina’s processes, and in particular clay. We are thrilled that Nestle-Purina is committed to joint production testing of clay, and TMS is eager to take advantage of this high-profile opportunity.”

On behalf of the Board of Directors,

“Dr. James Young”
Chairman of the Board of Directors
