Xarelto Lawsuit Bellwether Trial Dates Set For Early 2017

November 14, 2015 – – BloodThinnerHelp.com reports on the release of Xarelto lawsuit Bellwether trial dates for Xarelto MDL number 2592. These trials will be overseen by the Honorable Judge Eldon Fallon. According to court documents, the initial two bellwether trials, which will be held in the Eastern District of Louisiana will take place on February 6th and March 13th of 2017. The following two bellwether trials will take place in Texas on April 24th and May 30th of 2017.

Xarelto has become the subject of a rapidly growing number of lawsuits which similarly allege that the blood-thinning drug causes an increased risk for uncontrollable bleeding in patients. It has been linked to gastrointestinal bleeding, blood clots, strokes, and brain hemorrhages. Plaintiffs also commonly allege that manufacturers Bayer Healthcare AG and Janssen Pharmaceuticals failed to properly warn consumers about the risks associated with the drug.

Xarelto has become widely considered the most dangerous blood thinner currently on the market, primarily due to the fact that it has no corresponding antidote. When someone has Xarelto in their system and begins to bleed, their blood is not able to clot. In these instances, physicians have to resort to life saving measures to try to keep these people alive, such as blood transfusions. When patients taking more traditional blood thinners begin to bleed, however, doctors are able to administer vitamin K, which counteracts the effects of their medication and allows their blood to clot.

The upcoming bellwether trials regarding the Xarelto MDL are expected to provide plaintiffs and their attorneys with a good idea of how juries will respond to certain testimony and evidence throughout the trials of the remaining cases. As the case numbers have seen a tremendous surge since the formation of the MDL, it is fully expected that additional cases will continue to be filed while those invovled await 2017 bellwether trials.

Attorney Marc Goldich is currently working to ensure that, in the meantime, anyone who has taken Xarelto and has suffered adverse health effects that they attribute to the drug is able to fully explore their legal rights.
