Xarelto Lawsuits Alleging Serious Uncontrollable Bleeding Risks Surpass 2,200 In Federal Court

These cases, consolidated in federal court, now number over 2,200, and all involved plaintiffs commonly allege that they have suffered serious health complications after using blood thinner Xarelto. The Institute for Safe Medicine Practices indicated in information from the first quarter report of 2013, that the number of serious adverse events that have been linked to Xarelto outnumber those linked to Pradaxa, another “new-generation” anticoagulant.

Xarelto bellwether case selections are set to begin this January, and the first bellwether trials are expected to be heard in early 2017. For now, this leaves time for other lawsuits to be filed and join the MDL should the case not be barred by the Statute Of Limitations.
