Online Visibility Pros Wins ‘Constant Contact Solution Provider’ All-Star Award For 6th Consecutive Year

March 27, 2019 – – Phoenix, AZ based Online Visibility Pros (OVP) is delighted to announce that that they have won the Constant Contact Solution Provider All-Star Award for the sixth year in a row. The annual award recognizes the most successful 10% of Constant Contact’s Customer and Solution Provider base, as established by their significant achievements using email marketing to engage their customer base and drive results for their organization during the prior year.

This highly coveted award is only given to digital marketing leaders whose services enable clients to achieve and maintain an open rate above 25% on their email marketing campaigns over a year long assessment. The criteria used to select this year’s All Stars included the following during 2018: Level of engagement with email campaigns, Open, Bounce, and Click-Through Rates, Use of Social Sharing Features, Use of Mailing List Sign-Up Tools, and Use of Reporting Tools.

A leader in digital marketing for blue collar trade, contractors, and home service businesses, Online Visibility Pros targets online lead generation for home services businesses, contractors, construction companies, and a handful of a few other select niche markets. Company Co-founder Brian Horwitz said, “We want to bring the power of the internet to help trade contractors and home service businesses, who believe in the power and importance of marketing, drive more targeted traffic to their websites and other important online properties through places like Google, Bing, Yahoo, YouTube, and anywhere that direct response advertising can help.”

Many firms don’t have the time or staff to make an effort to take on these types of activities—and sometimes it is difficult to find one which can produce actual results for their specialist service. Online Visibility Pros created a 90-second video to explain how they can help. The company applies cutting-edge lead generation strategies to attract more interested prospects, convert more prospects to leads, nurture more prospects and customers effectively through email newsletter marketing through Constant Contact, and finally generate greater profits faster and easier than most businesses ever imagined possible.

This helps small businesses increase leads, appointments, and sales, as well as their online reputation without having to hire more employees—all of which help increase bottom line profits.

In their 5-Star review on Online Visibility Pros, Peter S. said, “My electromagnetic field (EMF) and radio frequency (RF) testing and consulting company had no online marketing plan. I needed help with the website, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and social media marketing. We chose to work with Online Visibility Pros and have been very impressed with their diligent and creative work. They started with a deep analysis of our web presence as well as our competition and created a plan. After implementing the plan, we started getting internet leads into the business, and now when you search EMF Testing or RF Testing plus a city, you see our website there. We have enjoyed our experience working with the OVP team and the results we’ve seen. Online Visibility Pros are experts in their field!”

For this year’s Constant Contact Solution Provider All-Star award, the use of social sharing features was one of the criteria assessed, along with the use of reporting tools. Online Visibility Pros understands the importance of leveraging social media channels, thereby providing assurance to prospective customers who measure a company’s online reputation before making a purchase. Those interested in learning more may find OVP on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/OnlineVisibilityPros/.

“We value hard work and ethical business practices,” said Horwitz. “The world of online marketing is saturated with scams, schemes, and bad advice. We bring industry-leading practices to help trade contractors and home service business owners because we believe they can get the most out of our service.” He concluded that, “Ultimately, our goal is to ensure that our clients are successful because that would be the only time when we could say that we are truly successful.”

In her review of the company’s services, Sandra E. said, “Online Visibility Pros took over the SEO of my website, set me up on social media, improved my website to include a blog, helped me start my eNewsletter, and so on. The results are nothing short of remarkable. Thanks to OVP’s work, my new clients have doubled this year. This has had an equally great effect on my business income. Now you can really ‘find me on the web.’ Thank you OVP!”

Durham Recovery Agrees With 5-Year National Study: Addiction Treatment Is Neglected By U.S. Medical System

March 27, 2019 – – 40 million Americans ages 12 and older have addiction involving nicotine, alcohol or other drugs, a disease affecting more Americans than heart conditions, diabetes or cancer according to a five-year national study released today by CASAColumbia at Columbia University (CASAColumbia). Another 80 million people are risky substance users – using tobacco, alcohol and other drugs in ways that threaten health and safety.

The report, Addiction Medicine: Closing the Gap between Science and Practice, reveals that while about 7 in 10 people with diseases like hypertension, major depression and diabetes receive treatment, only about 1 in 10 people who need treatment for addiction involving alcohol or other drugs receive it. Of those who do receive treatment, most do not receive anything that approximates evidence-based care.

The CASAColumbia report finds that addiction treatment is largely disconnected from mainstream medical practice. While a wide range of evidence-based screening, intervention, treatment and disease management tools and practices exist, they rarely are employed. The report exposes the fact that most medical professionals who should be providing treatment are not sufficiently trained to diagnose or treat addiction, and most of those providing addiction treatment are not medical professionals and are not equipped with the knowledge, skills or credentials necessary to provide the full range of evidence-based services.

“This report shows that misperceptions about the disease of addiction are undermining medical care,” says Durham Recovery. The report finds that while doctors routinely screen for a broad range of health problems like high blood pressure or high cholesterol, they rarely screen for risky substance use or signs of addiction and instead treat a long list of health problems that result, including accidents, unintended pregnancies, heart disease, cancers and many other costly conditions without examining the root cause.

This landmark report examines the science of addiction –a complex disease that involves changes in the structure and function of the brain—and the profound gap between what is known about the disease and how to prevent and treat it versus current health and medical practice.

Few Patients with Addiction Receive Quality Care

The CASAColumbia report found that while almost half of Americans say they would go to their health care providers if someone close needed help for addiction, less than 6% of all referrals to addiction treatment come from health professionals.

The report also found no clearly delineated, consistent and regulated national standards that stipulate who may provide addiction treatment in the U.S.; standards vary by state and by payer. Addiction treatment facilities and programs are not adequately regulated or held accountable for providing treatment consistent with medical standards and proven treatment practices.

Physicians and other medical professionals who make up the smallest share of providers of addiction treatment receive little education in addiction science, prevention and treatment. In fact, CASAColumbia’s report cites other research that found that of patients who had visited a general medical provider in the past year only 29% were even asked about alcohol or other drug use.

The CASAColumbia report reveals that addiction and risky use of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs constitute the largest preventable and most costly health problems facing the U.S. today, responsible for more than 20% of deaths in the U.S., causing or contributing to more than 70 other conditions requiring medical care and a wide range of costly social consequences and accounting for one-third of all hospital in-patient costs. Research suggests that effective health care interventions to prevent and treat addiction would significantly reduce these costs.

CASAColumbia is a science-based, multidisciplinary organization focused on transforming society’s understanding of and response to the disease of addiction. Founded in 1992 by Former U.S. Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare Joseph A. Califano, Jr., CASAColumbia assembles the professional skills needed to research, prevent, treat and eliminate this disease in all sectors of society. CASAColumbia conducts research and utilizes the scientific findings of others to inform Americans of the economic and social costs of substance use and addiction and their impact on each of our lives. By doing so, CASAColumbia aims to reduce the stigma attached to this disease by replacing shame with hope and give people the tools they need to prevent, treat and eliminate addiction.

CASAColumbia has issued 77 reports and white papers, published three books, conducted demonstration programs focused on children, families and schools in 37 states and Washington, DC, held 19 conferences, and has been evaluating addiction treatment and prevention programs to determine what treatment models work best for individuals.

Jackson Chem Dependency Releases a Study That Shows Impact of Social Interactions on Addictive Behavior

March 27, 2019 – – A new study published in Nature Neuroscience finds that social interactions can have a profound effect on behaviors related to addiction, and on the brain’s response to drug-associated cues. These findings have implications for people with substance use disorders (SUDs), because it suggests that social interaction can change the activity of specific neuronal circuits that control drug craving and relapse. The research was funded by the National Institutes of Health and led by Dr. Marco Venniro from the Intramural Research Program of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).

The researchers used established animal models of drug addiction to show that when given a choice, rats repeatedly chose social interaction over self-administration of heroin or methamphetamine. This held true even for rats that had previously been using heroin or methamphetamine in a “compulsive” way (like humans with an SUD).

Additionally, all rats robustly chose peer contact over more drug access even when they were continuously housed with their peers. And during prolonged abstinence periods, Jackson Chem Dependency reported they were significantly less vulnerable to relapse than rats that simply had their access to drugs removed. However, some rats resumed drug taking when access to a peer was delayed. The study introduces a novel paradigm to study brain mechanisms of social factors in addiction and could lead to new behavioral and pharmacological treatments for SUDs.

The protective effects of social interaction are more straightforward for rats than for people, but even so, the new findings in rats are in accord with what social scientists have reported for decades — feelings of connectedness to society can protect some (not all) people against SUDs. The rats that are less strongly protected by social contact could be a model for understanding and treating their human counterparts.

Big Sky Recovery Solutions Reports 6 Types of Opioids Most Often Involved Overdoses

March 27, 2019 – – Fentanyl has surpassed heroin as the top drug involved in U.S. overdose deaths, according to new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Driven largely by the synthetic opioid that’s 50 times more potent than heroin, the number of fatal drug overdoses in America climbed from 41,340 in 2011 to 63,632 in 2016 – a 54 percent increase – the CDC data show. A November report from the agency showed the death toll has risen even higher since then, reaching 70,237 last year, and that drug deaths are a leading cause of falling life expectancy in the U.S. in recent years.

Some drug categories in the report include related substances, with the fentanyl category including chemicals used to make it as well as analogues. Carfentanil, for example, is a fentanyl analogue 100 times more potent than fentanyl itself. Researchers also cautioned against comparing numbers across years, as reporting of specific drugs involved in a death improved over the period studied.

Diazepam – a prescription drug that can be used to treat anxiety, seizures, alcohol withdrawal and other conditions – was involved in 3.2 percent of drug overdose deaths in 2016. Researchers did not cite specific variations, but common brands include Valium and Diastat.

Prescription painkiller hydrocodone was involved in 5 percent of drug overdose deaths. Brand names containing the drug include Norco, Vicodin and Lorcet.

Methadone, a prescription drug used to treat pain, was involved in 5.5 percent of overdose deaths in 2016. It also is one of three drugs approved by the Food and Drug Administration to treat opioid dependence, easing withdrawal and helping to reduce cravings.

Morphine was part of 7.9 percent of overdose deaths in 2016. Alprazolam, commonly sold as Xanax, is used to treat anxiety and panic disorders and was involved in 9.8 percent of overdose deaths. Almost all of these deaths also involved another drug, such as fentanyl, heroin or oxycodone.

Mike Marko Publishes Post about Using Facebook for Business

March 27, 2019 – – Mike Marko, founder, and owner of Cincinnati, Ohio-based IM Consultant Services announced that he has recently published a blog post titled “Using Facebook for Business the Right Way”. He says that this blog post will help entrepreneurs and business owners take advantage of the benefits that this social media platform has to offer.

Today, social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have become an integral part of online marketing. Marketing a business online won’t be successful if the business owner isn’t using any of these social media platforms.

That’s because ever since Facebook and Twitter became popular, they have done more than change the landscape of the Internet. They have become part of most consumers’ daily lives, which makes them vital tools for businesses to use in reaching their target customers.

Marko says that social media platforms like Facebook give entrepreneurs and business owners a chance to market their products and services without having to spend a lot of money — the way they would when using traditional advertising.

However, not all business owners are successful in using Facebook for marketing, according to Marko. He claims that many of them fail to use its features properly. Marko says that’s the reason he decided to write a blog post about using Facebook for marketing.

Marko states that Facebook is one of the best places or platforms to promote a business. It can give brands a significant amount of web traffic to their sites, leads, and even sales.

In fact, it’s so powerful a marketing platform that most business owners can get good results from it very quickly. If a business owner has been using Facebook for marketing for a while but has not seen results despite that, Marko cautions that he may be using it the wrong way.

Marko says that marketing on Facebook is more than just signing up and posting content. There’s still a lot of work to do to achieve the results most business owners desire. Hence, in his new blog post, Marko lists the do’s and don’ts on using Facebook for business.

Marko notes that Facebook can help in reaching target audiences, generating interest, and raising brand awareness. Entrepreneurs and business owners just need to use its features properly. Among other things, Marko states that one way to do that is to use relevant pictures in a Facebook page.

He also notes in the article that it’s necessary for brands to make use of CTAs or Calls to Action in their online marketing campaign. This will help Facebook users easily access information they need regarding the brand’s products or services.

In addition to that, Marko reminds his followers and readers to tailor their organic posts, and analyze statistics. Marko says that they also need to learn how to post content strategically because it’s the key to marketing success. People will show more interest in a Facebook page if it’s posting high-quality content at the right time and for the right audience.

Marko goes on to say that people often like Facebook pages that post content that is useful, informative, or entertaining. That’s why Marko wants his readers to take their content seriously. He says that it’s important for the content to get engagement because that’s how businesses can achieve their marketing goals. Engagement from the audience can increase visibility and sales.

The latter part of Marko’s blog post for Facebook marketing tips covers the Don’ts of promoting on the platform. He includes some things that every entrepreneur and business owner should avoid doing on his Facebook account.

The list of things to avoid include not completing the details on the Facebook page, arguing with a customer, using a dummy account, and posting too often.

Marko says that if a brand has a Facebook page, it’s important to make it look legitimate and professional. Otherwise, people won’t take the Facebook page seriously. To avoid that, Marko says that it’s important to provide important information about the business, especially in the About section.

Also, Marko says that brands should maintain good relations with consumers. It’s important for them to avoid arguing with their Facebook fans, for example. Arguing with consumers can give a business a bad reputation. According to him, that can affect the sales of a business.

Lastly, Marko warns about the consequence of posting too much. According to him, the way a Facebook page posts content will affect how the audience reacts to it. Posting content regularly is a good habit. But Marko said that it’s important to keep it moderate to avoid overwhelming the audience.

People will get tired if the the content on their newsfeed is from the same Facebook page all the time. More often than not, people will unlike a Facebook page if it’s spamming their newsfeed.

If it’s necessary to post more than one piece of content in a day, Marko advises to do it strategically. Brands on Facebook can do this by posting content at different times or by using different media.

Unlike some other social media platforms, Facebook supports different media for content. A Facebook page can post plain text, photo, video, or live video. The right medium to use depends on the content and target audience.

Those who are interested in learning more about using Facebook for business or digital marketing can follow Marko to his website. There, they can read this and other posts that he has published. He states that anyone who is looking for qualified and experienced SEO and similar services can come to him and his team. Marko and IM Consultant Services are willing to schedule consultations with business owners in need of assistance.

Gateway Wellness Foundation of St Louse Study Reveals: Teen Substance Use America’s #1 Public Health Problem

March 27, 2019 – – 9 out of 10 Americans who meet the medical criteria for addiction started smoking, drinking, or using other drugs before age 18, according to a national study released today by CASAColumbia (CASA) at Columbia University.

Adolescent Substance Use: America’s #1 Public Health Problem reveals that adolescence is the critical period for the initiation of substance use and its consequences. The CASA report finds 1 in 4 Americans who began using any addictive substance before age 18 are addicted, compared to 1 in 25 Americans who started using at age 21 or older.

Adolescent Substance Use at Epidemic Levels: The CASA report underscores the fact that addiction is a disease with adolescent origins. The underdeveloped teen brain makes it likelier that teens will take risks, including using addictive substances that interfere with brain development, impair judgment and heighten their risk of addiction.

The CASA report reveals that: 75% (10 million) of all high school students have used addictive substances including tobacco, alcohol, marijuana or cocaine; 1 in 5 of them meets the medical criteria for addiction, 46% (6.1 million) of all high school students currently use addictive substances; 1 in 3 of them meets the medical criteria for addiction.

“Teen substance use is our nation’s number one public health problem. Smoking, drinking and using other drugs while the brain is still developing dramatically hikes the risk of addiction and other devastating consequences,” said Jim Ramstad, Former Member of Congress (MN-3) and a CASA board member who also chaired the report’s National Advisory Commission.

The CASA report noted that alcohol is the preferred addictive substance among high school students: 72.5% have drunk alcohol, 46.3% have smoked cigarettes, 36.8% have used marijuana, 14.8% have misused controlled prescription drugs, 65.1% have used more than one substance.

“Addiction is a disease that in most cases begins in adolescence so preventing or delaying teens from using alcohol, tobacco or other drugs for as long as possible is crucial to their health and safety,” said Gateway Wellness Foundation. “We rightfully worry about other teen health problems like obesity, depression or bullying, but we turn a blind eye to a more common and deadly epidemic that we can in fact prevent.”

American Culture Drives Teen Substance Use: The report finds that American culture, broadly defined, actually increases the risk that teens will use addictive substances. A wide range of social influences subtly condone or more overtly encourage use, including acceptance of substance use by parents, schools and communities; pervasive advertising of these products; and media portrayals of substance use as benign or glamorous, fun and relaxing. These cultural messages and the widespread availability of tobacco, alcohol, marijuana and controlled prescription drugs normalize substance use, undermining the health and futures of our teens.

46% of children under age 18 (34.4 million) live in a household where someone 18 or older is smoking, drinking excessively, misusing prescription drugs or using illegal drugs.

Less than half (42.6%) of parents list refraining from smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol, using marijuana, misusing prescription drugs or using other illicit drugs as one of their top three concerns for their teens; almost 21% say that marijuana is a harmless drug.

The report also finds that many teens with other challenges such as a family history including a genetic predisposition, a co-occurring health problem, or a victim of trauma are at even higher risk of substance use and addiction.

A Costly Epidemic: The CASA report declares teen smoking, drinking, misusing prescription drugs and using illegal drugs to be a public health epidemic presenting clear and present dangers to millions of American teens, and severe and expensive long range consequences for the nation.

In addition to the heightened risk of addiction, consequences of teen substance use include accidents and injuries; unintended pregnancies; medical conditions such as asthma, depression, anxiety, psychosis and impaired brain function; reduced academic performance and educational achievement; criminal involvement and even death.

The report finds teen substance use is the origin of the largest preventable and most costly public health problem in America today. Immediate costs per year of teen use include an estimated $68 billion associated with underage drinking and $14 billion in substance-related juvenile justice costs. Total costs to federal, state and local governments of substance use, which has its roots in adolescence, are at least $468 billion per year – almost $1,500 for every person in America.

“The combination of adolescence, an American culture that glorifies and promotes substance use, and easy access to tobacco, alcohol and other drugs creates a perfect storm for our teens and for taxpayers,” said Gateway Wellness Foundation. “We no longer can justify writing off adolescent substance use as bad behavior, as a rite of passage or as kids just being kids. The science is too clear, the facts are too compelling, the health and social consequences are too devastating and the costs are simply too high.”

French candies and sweets include those from Toulouse, which use violet flowers harvested in winter and early spring, because the emblem of the city is violet. These flowers are coated with sugar and then crystallized. But it should be noted that genuine “violet de Toulouse” confectionery are colored blue and not mauve.

Another distinctive French candy is the calisson, which is the culinary pride of Aix-en-Provence. It is shaped like an almond and made from unleavened bread, a yellow paste made from almond powder, sugar, and candied melon. And it is coated with a thin egg icing.

Still another unique French candy is the Anise from Flavigny. It was said that King Louis XIV always had a box of Anise in his pocket. These are white and oval candies that are made from a green anise seed that is coated with a flavored sugar syrup. It was concocted by Benedictine monks in 719 and has been made in Flavigny-sur-Ozerain in Burgundy since the eighth century. These candies are still being produced by the Troubat house in the original abbey.

Meanwhile, candied chestnuts are available in Ardeche all year round but in other places in France, these are primarily eaten during the Christmas and New Year holidays. These are made from the fruit of the chestnut tree and are candied for several days in various kinds of sugar syrups and then glazed with icing sugar.

And then there are the Lyon cocoons that were first made after the Second World War because Edouard Herriot, the mayor of Lyon and previous president of the Republic, had observed that the city is not noted for having a confectionery despite being known for its gastronomy. The mayor organized a competition of pastry chefs and one of them came up with a silkworm-shaped candy to denote that Lyon was once a silk capital from the 17th to 19th century. The cocoon candy is a marzipan sheath that is filled with a praline composed of orange, hazelnut and curacao liqueur.

There are many more unique French candies and these are available in the Le Panier Francais grocery store. These include the Maisson Boissier Mini Pates de Fruits; Maison Boissier Assortment Dragees; Maison Boissier Assortment Candies, such as citrus balls, flower balls and fruits balls; Cemoi French Chocolate Covered Marshmallow Bear; Chabert and Guillot Nougat Tender; and Corsiglia French Candied Chestnuts.
