BYStudio Shares 5 Essential Small Business Branding Tips With Project Echo Entreprenuers

BYStudio, a Los Angeles branding agency, participated on the judging panel for Project Echo’s 11th annual business plan competition where they shared their top 5 essential small business branding tips to help businesses achieve top-of-mind awareness.

Los Angeles, USA – April 28, 2015 /MarketersMedia/

Barbara Yeh, brand strategist at BYStudio branding agency in Los Angeles, recently participated as a judge at Project Echo’s 11th annual business plan competition where she offered small business branding tips to participating entrepreneurs. Project ECHO is a unique competition where judges evaluate the entrepreneur’s business plans and the persuasiveness of each pitch presentation.

Barbara offered her top 5 essential branding tips for small business entrepreneurs.

Write a compelling mission and vision statement. A vision statement reflects a company’s hopes and dreams for the future. A mission statement is more practical and describes just what a company does and why it does it. Think about the value the company provides customers and then write a clear and concise vision and mission statement.

Differentiate from the competition. Strong and enduring brands are distinct from their competitors. A brand should be daring and stand for something, and above all else, it should not try to be all things for all people. Remember that it is very powerful for a brand to be seen as the experts in the industry. Being an expert will help companies stand out.

Employees must live the brand image. Sometimes businesses don’t live up to the expectations of their company branding. Yet, one of the primary drivers of brand loyalty has found to be a consistent brand experience. When businesses do what they say they are going to do then the business is truly living the brand image. Positive experiences with a company’s brand lead to good feelings which can then lead to word of mouth exposure.

Hire a professional logo designer. A professional logo that can be easily recognizable in small formats such as social media profile profiles will help fans identify with the business more easily. A high quality logo design is a critical step in building a strong brand design that will connect with loyal customers.

Develop a professional website. A professionally designed website with an integrated brand design will help elevate the business from the competition. The website also needs to be mobile responsive. In fact, Google has rolled out an algorithmic update that now uses mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. That means that if a business website is not mobile phone friendly, the search engine ranking will be lower than a business website that is mobile-friendly.

Brand design is critical to a company’s long term success yet many people think that branding is just a logo and tagline. In fact, successful branding is really about identifying with the needs of a target market and ensuring that they relate to the values of the business more than a competitor’s. As the often recited quote says, “the customer is always right.”

I PRINT N MAIL Launches Innovative Direct Mail With Speech-Recognition Tools

I PRINT N MAIL introduces a unique approach that can help businesses get more bang from their marketing buck.

San Francisco, CA, USA – April 28, 2015 /MarketersMedia/

I PRINT N MAIL, a direct mail marketing firm headquartered in San Francisco, CA introduces a unique approach that can help businesses get more bang from their marketing buck.

“Direct mail is a tried-and-true marketing approach,” explains Andre Chandra, General Manager at I PRINT N MAIL. “Despite competition from online and social media space chasing the same marketing dollars, direct mail is still one of the best ways to get you in front of a prospect. Yet, it’s time that direct mail to be on par technologically with these younger marketing medium.”

The NextGen Direct Mail program infuses cutting-edge technologies that include lead tracking, recording, analytics, and speech recognition to help marketers assess the campaign’s performance and improve conversion rates. “There is too much focus on design, print quality, and targeting,” Mr. Chandra says, “…which are all important elements. But we notice that there is opportunity to be more profitable by improving your response and conversion rates.”

Under NextGen, after the mailers are sent, each inbound call from prospects are tracked and recorded, and marketers can access the information in real-time. “It’s like having Google Analytics on your direct mail campaigns,” says Mr. Chandra. NextGen also has speech recognition technology that can follow a phone conversation between a sales rep and the prospect. On a call-by-call basis, it then assigns a score on how well the rep does. The program also rates how ready the prospects are, based on their tone of voice and the questions they ask.

With the tool, marketers can quickly discover which territories work best, what products have the biggest potential, what the most frequent questions are, and which promotions are most intriguing. Big score gaps between the sales rep and the prospect (for example, a “hot” prospect vs. an underwhelming sales rep) can be flagged so a supervisor can immediately attempt to “save” the lead and convert the prospect into customers. An irate customer call can also be flagged so a manager can swoop in and help defuse the situation.

As an added benefit, marketers can also use this technology as an effective training and performance review tool. Now, supervisors do not have to spend hours listening to every call, let the technology take off that burden and let you focus on what’s most important: converting your prospects into paying customers.

Early results show big payoffs: marketers can pivot up to 75 percent faster by having all the analytics ready at your fingertips. “There are so many elements involved with a marketing campaign, and for a home run they all must line up,” says Mr. Chandra. “Serious marketers know that your marketing must continue to evolve, and we help speed up that process.”

That’s just icing on the cake, though. I PRINT N MAIL’s NextGen Direct Mail has seen conversion rates improve by up to 35 percent. “That is huge,” says Mr. Chandra, “For pennies more, you have a chance to improve your bottom line by that much? It’s a no brainer.”

April 27, 2015 /MM-prReach/

“In New York City, building owners with lots of 50,000 square feet or more are required to comply with Local Law 84. Reporting is mandatory before May 1st,” says Jeff Carleton, President of Carleton Energy Consulting. For property owners who are wondering what needs to be done, here is a checklist to get them started. To comply with the May 1 deadline, owners must do the following:

Report Water and Energy Use Data – Using the free online benching tool (Energy Star Portfolio Manager), report water and energy use from the prior year. Usage data must be logged for January through December of the previous year into the Portfolio Manager. Use the template provided: NYC LL84 Benchmarking 2014 Compliance Report. The template will help create a customized compliance report for each property that can be submitted to the city. Remember to use the correct template for the correct year as they are updated annually.

If the May 1 Deadline is Missed – If owners fail to gather reporting data in time and miss the May 1 deadline, they may still be able to comply as long as they submit their reports before the next quarterly deadlines of August 1, November 1 and February 1. However, violations will be issued for owners who fail to comply by May 1 and a penalty of $500 will be assessed. Additional violations and penalties of $500 per quarter will be assessed if they miss the extended deadlines of August, November and February. Fines cannot exceed $2,000 per year.

2015 IAWTV Award Winners Revealed

Awards in 34 categories were handed out at a ceremony in Las Vegas as part of NAB Show, at the 4th Annual IAWTV Awards presented by NMX.

April 27, 2015 /MM-prReach/

The music series Player Piano and the Argentinian Sci-Fi saga Daemonium topped the winners at the 4th Annual IAWTV Awards. Player Piano took home awards for cinematography, Directing in Non-Fiction, and Sound, while Daemonium landed Visual F/X, Makeup and the award for Best Non-English Series.

Other multiple-awards winners included Out With Dad and it’s spinoff Vanessa’s Story, who took home the Ensemble Drama and Female Performance awards, Real Housewives of Horror which took awards for its comedic ensemble and for Best Comedy, God Particles which took Female Comedy Performance and Micro-Budget Series, and Whatever, Linda, which took Directing in a Drama and Best Drama Series.

The awards, which were hosted by Tony and SAG winner Roger Bart, brought together content creators and performers from all around the world to the ceremony in Las Vegas, which was held at the Westgate Hotel and presented by NMX as part of NAB Show.

Beth Riesgraf (Leverage), presenting the award for Best Drama, noted that the word “drama” comes from Greek origins meaning “to do”, and that is just what the creators honored at the awards had done. An opening musical number which featured stars of the web joining Bart on stage, was appropriately named, “You Can Do it on the Web”.

Audience favorite moments from the show, which was also streamed on YouTube, include Sandeep Parikh (The Guild) who confused the meaning of Best Live Host with that of an alien parasite inhabiting a body, noting that he felt the award should have gone to John Hurt. When he went on to present Best Pre-Recorded Host, he noted, “That makes more sense to me now.”

Josh Robert Thompson, known as the sidekick robot skeleton on Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, delighted the crowd by presenting awards as a spot on Morgan Freeman and Robert DeNiro.

Larry King, by way of video, presented the award for Documentary or Educational Series, noting that today’s stories are being told by people like you on the web.

Jane Espenson, known for penning Once Upon a Time, along with episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, joined her Husbands co-creator Brad Bell with a lyrical twist that resulted in a prat fall that captured both the intellectual and physical elements of comedy.

Finally, the show’s director, Jenn Page, presented an award for directing, and quipped to the winner, Sean Becker, that he was taking too long to reach the stage and was “ruining her show”.

Chairman of the IAWTV Jeff Burns, and Executive Director of the Awards, Jonathan Robbins, delivered a joint speech championing web creators everywhere, noting that the awards were about more than just the nominees, but about the entire community. Given the friendly and gracious vibe that was observed on the red carpet by Broadcast Beat Magazine, it would appear they were right.

Lakeland Plastics Adds 3D Printing to its line of Custom Plastic Extrusion Services

Lakeland Plastics, Inc., has added 3D printing to its extensive line of Custom Plastic Extrusion Services. Additive manufacturing technologies can quickly create tangible parts that allow individuals to touch, feel and assess their design.

Mundelein – April 27, 2015 /PressCable/

Lakeland Plastics, Inc., a manufacturer of custom plastic extrusions, has added 3D printing to its extensive line of Custom Plastic Extrusion Services.

Three Dimensional or 3D printing is a term used to describe a variety of additive manufacturing technologies. These manufacturing technologies produce custom parts by accurately “printing” layer upon layer of plastic until a 3D form is created. Additive manufacturing technologies can quickly create tangible parts that allow individuals to touch, feel and assess their design.

The 3D printing process can be done in many colors and an almost limitless variety of geometries and have become increasingly popular in recent years as a quick, easy and cost effective solution to create plastic parts from 3D CAD data.

“We made the decision to add 3D printing services after customers mentioned that it would be nice to see how their new extruded plastic part would actually look and function before committing to the purchase of a new Plastic Extrusion Die.” Christopher Arendt, Lakeland Plastics President, said. “Now our customers can see their part, hold it in their hands and be sure they are making the right decision” said Arendt.

3D printing, because it requires no tooling, only an engineering design, is a low cost way to manufacture a sample part. Turnaround time for the production of a 3D model is very short, in many cases less than a week.

“Since the cost of 3D printing is so economical many customers are going this route to prototype their new parts, with some going so far as to actually place small initial orders produced from the 3D printing process.” said Arendt. “It has been a valuable addition to the extensive line of services offered by Lakeland Plastics”.

Lakeland Plastics offers 3D printing for the production of proof of concept prototypes and sampling for clients that require a sample or prototype of the proposed part before going to full production.

About Lakeland Plastics, Inc.

Established in 1962, Lakeland Plastics is headquartered in Mundelein, Illinois. With over 50 years of experience in the plastic extrusions industry, Lakeland has built a reputation for superior customer service, knowledgeable advice and exceptional quality in every extruded plastic profile they produce.

Online Memorial Platform Qeepr Makes Tribute Integration Free For Funeral Homes

Qeepr memorials offering free memorial integration for cemetery and funeral home websites.

Montreal, Canada – April 27, 2015 /PressCable/

Canadian based tribute website platform, Qeepr, has extended its offering to allow funeral homes an alternative way to publish media rich memorials. The move comes amid consolidation within the online memorial market and the Qeepr team is determined to offer funeral homes and cemeteries an easy to integrate, full featured alternative to other existing providers.

“The team is really confident that the platform provides the best solution,” said founder Mandy Benoualid. “That’s why we’ve extended memorial integration access to be free to try for anyone.”

The Qeepr integration allows funeral homes to publish elegant, modern memorials on their existing website with minimal technical knowledge. Qeepr prides itself on its integrated condolences, unlimited video and image uploads with social commenting and “liking” capabilities, genealogy, and much more. The concept behind Qeepr allows for multiple “keepers” of the online memorial, providing family members easy access to collaborate and add unlimited content. The memorials are stored on the Qeepr website so that large media files will never effect the website it is connected to. Since Qeepr memorials are free forever, tributes will never be lost, even if a funeral home changes website providers or decides to remove information.

Since launching their memorial integration in October of 2014, Qeepr has continued to expand the capabilities to meet the needs of their customers. “Bulk importing of data and records was a big request that was recently added for large providers and cemeteries looking to expand the online presence of their tributes,” said Benoualid. “It has made it much easier to offer a great service that works for funeral homes and cemeteries of any size.”

Through the memorial integration, a new customer can quickly get unpublished records online or switch from an existing provider. Unlike other memorial sites, Qeepr provides cleanly designed memorial pages with no Google ads to distract from the true purpose and value of the tribute page. The modern design of the site was built from the ground up to be optimized for funeral home visibility in search engines like Google and Bing.

Another unique feature of the platform is the ability to link the cemetery monument to the obituary, photos, videos and condolences through the mobile app. The Qeepr mobile app extends the online tribute profile into the cemetery, providing instant monument directions and the ability to discover the lifestory of the deceased.

About Qeepr Qeepr [kee-per] is the only social memorial platform forever connecting funeral professionals with their client families. Qeepr memorials seamlessly integrate into cemetery and funeral home websites, allowing an interactive, meaningful experience for families and increasing web traffic. Memorials can be easily connected to monuments through the Mobile App, allowing visitors to receive directions in any cemetery and discover the lifestory behind the monument in the snap of a picture or by scanning a Qeepr Code.
