Heroes for Children Joins Ellen’s #JustKeepDancing Challenge

Heroes for Children, a unique non-profit organization that provides social and financial assistance to families whose child is battling cancer, has joined Ellen DeGeneres’ #JustKeepDancing social media challenge to help spread awareness of children who are battling cancer. Participants are asked to upload a video to social media showcasing their best dance moves while challenging three other friends to bust a move. For each video uploaded to social media containing the hashtags #JustKeepDancing and #HeroesForChildren an anonymous donor will donate one dollar to Heroes for Children.

Besides helping families whose children are battling cancer with electric bill payments, mortgage payments, gas cards, computers for the older kids and birthday celebrations in the hospital, Heroes for Children also wants to bring awareness,” says Larissa Linton, co-founder and executive director of Heroes for Children. “Very few know that 46 children are diagnosed every single day with cancer. I was one of those moms who faced the unthinkable – my daughter Taylor was diagnosed in December 2000, and fought the good fight until 2001. She was 4 years old. DMD Announces Financial Results for First Quarter Ended March 31, 2015

MONTREAL, QB / ACCESSWIRE / May 28, 2015 / On May 27, 2015, DMD Digital Health Connections Group Inc. (“DMD” or the “Company”) (NEX: DMG.H), a leader in digital intelligence for the health industry filed its financial statements and MD&A for the three-month period ended March 31, 2015 reporting a net income of $1.1 million on revenues of $7.4 million.

During the quarter ended March 31, 2015, the Company reported a net income of $1.1 million on revenues of $7.4 million. For the same period in 2014, the Company had generated net income of $0.2 million on revenues of $4.8 million.

Revenue increased by $2.5 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2015 compared to the quarter ended March 31, 2014 while gross margin increased $2.0 million, from $2.4 million in 2014 to $4.4 million during the same period in 2015. In addition to having a lager client base and a wider geographical market penetration, the Company has been able to change its product mix whereby the Company’s higher margin products and services are increasing in relative importance.

During the quarter ended March 31, 2015, operating expenses increased in absolute terms by $0.9 million to $2.6 million but remained stable at 35% of revenue.

The Company reported an operating income of $1.8 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2015 compared to an operating income of $0.7 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2014. Total comprehensive income for first quarter ended March 31, 2015 was $1.6 million compared to $0.3 million for the same period in 2014.

New Comedic Web Series “Hazy” Explores World of Artistic Endeavors

The business world has often been portrayed as magical and exciting, but the reality for many aspiring artists is considerably more difficult. A new web series “Hazy” from producer Samantha Wynne depicts the trials and joys of the professional world from the viewpoints of budding creatives: actress Aspen Moses, filmmaker Eddie Lambert and architect Owen Castro. “Hazy” showcases the lives of these 20-somethings as they fumble through love, poverty, and professional sacrifice in Southern California.

“Hazy” is loosely based on the life of ScarlettOh Production head Samantha Wynne. The comedic web series will focus on Aspen, a young, ambitious actress who is passionate about acting and singing. As a lesbian, Aspen struggles with disclosing her sexual identity and fears damaging her career. Her mismatched roommate, Eddie is a filmmaker and proud lesbian, who is constantly playing the louder counterpart to the shy Aspen. The third roommate, Owen is the emotional center who is trying to launch his architectural career while working as cartoon character at Universal Studios.

The first season of “Hazy” is being produced by Hollywood veterans and stars. Samantha Wynne will serve as producer and director, and has produced many notable short films including Graceless, along with a series of YouTube videos for Mako Shark Clothing. Audio engineer Brett Pipkin has worked shows “Frenzy” and “One Step Behind.” The role of Eddie will be played by Mariana Novak, who has starred in films The Penal Colony, The Mastermind, and Hunter Vampire Killer.

The show “Hazy” promises to produce riotous laughs as well as tug on the heartstrings of viewers, but it will require the support of the public to become a reality. Moroccan-Senegalese Economic Impetus Group Set Up in Dakar

HM King Mohammed VI and Senegalese president Macky Sall chaired, on Monday, May 25, in the presidential palace in Dakar, the ceremony to set up the Moroccan-Senegalese economic impetus group.
The Moroccan-Senegalese economic impetus group is a body established by the two countries to structure and spur their economic partnership relations, promote co-emergence, encourage partnership between the two countries’ private sectors and monitor the implementation of private-private and public-private agreements between the two countries.
The inception of the new group is an implementation of HM the Kings instructions to further strengthen ties with Senegal, a sister country with which Morocco has a fruitful and multi-faceted cooperation.
It is also in line with the vision of the two leaders, HM King Mohammed VI and President Macky Sall, to make bilateral cooperation a model in Africa.
The new instrument, which was the subject of a memorandum of understanding inked last Thursday in Dakar, before HM the King and Senegal’s president, shows the diversity of agreements existing between Morocco and Senegal, and the shared will to broaden their scope of cooperation.
The Moroccan-Senegalese economic impetus group, which will convene twice a year, is co-chaired by the two countries’ foreign ministers and presidents of employers’ associations, and includes 10 priority sectors of activity, with a co-chairmanship on each side.

The body will contribute to fostering economic partnership between Morocco and Senegal and setting up a Senegalese-Moroccan Forum which will become a yearly event for the two countries’ economic actors.
HM King Mohammed VI and Senegalese president Macky Sall chaired afterwards the signing ceremony of 15 agreements of public-private and private-private economic partnership.

The main Agreements concluded were as follows:

– A memorandum of understanding to develop western African business city in Dakar, signed on the Moroccan side by foreign minister Salaheddine Mezouar, and CDG director general Abdellatif Zeghnoun, and on the Senegalese side by foreign minister Mankeur Ndiaye and CDC director Thierno Seydou Niane.

– A cooperation agreement on sea fisheries and aquaculture, signed by Senegalese fisheries and sea economy minister Oumar Gueye and agriculture and sea fisheries minister Aziz Akhannouch.
– An agreement between Morocco’s Groupe Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) and the State of Senegal, on raising funds on the financial market of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) of up to 30 billion CFA francs. It was signed by Senegalese economy, finance and planning minister Amadou Ba and CEO of BCP Mohamed Benchaaboun.

– A financing agreement to restore the “ranch de doly” between Attijariwafa Bank Group and the Republic of Senegal, signed by Amadou Ba and CEO of Attijariwafa Bank Group Mohamed El Kettani.
– A partnership agreement between Morocco’s Atlantic micro-finance and Senegalese ministry of economy and finance, signed by Amadou Ba and CEO of BCP Mohamed Benchaaboun.

– An investment agreement between the Douja Development Company (Addoha Group in Senegal) and the Republic of Senegal, inked by Senegalese economy, finance and planning minister Amadou Ba and CEO of real estate development group Addoha Douja Development Anas Sefrioui.

– Memorandum of Understanding between the State of Senegal, the Bank of Africa Capital Holding and Marylis Senegalese BTP. It was signed by Senegalese Minister of Economy, Finance and Planning, Amadou Ba, and CEO of BMCE Bank Group, Othman Benjelloun – Memorandum of Understanding between the State of Senegal, the Bank of Africa and the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Senegal For Strategic Investments (FONSIS). – Partnership and cooperation agreement between Attijariwafa Bank Group and the National Agency for Investment Promotion and Large-Scale Projects in Senegal (APIX). The agreement was signed by Managing Director of APIX, Mountaga Sy, and CEO of Attijariwafa Bank Group, Mohamed El Kettani.
– Memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation for the development of renewable energy projects within the framework of the “Great Green Wall” program between Green of Africa and FONSIS. The agreement was signed by Amadou Hott, FONSIS Managing Director, and Othman Benjelloun, representing the community of the members of the Green of Africa Alliance.

King Mohammed VI Launches A Small-Scale Fishing Unloading Site in Dakar

HM King Mohammed VI and Senegalese President Macky Sall launched on Monday, May 25 , the building works of a small-scale fishing unloading site in Soumbedioune in Dakar.

Upon their arrival at the site, HM the King and President Macky Sall were greeted by Senegalese Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy, Oumar Gueye, Moroccan Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Aziz Akhannouch, the Governor of Dakar, Delegate President of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development, Mostafa Terrab and CEO of Attijariwafabank Group, Mohamed El Kettani, as well as other figures.

Explanations were provided to HM the King and the Senegalese President on the project, part of South-South cooperation and meant to reflect friendship ties between the two countries.

The budget allocated for this project, funded by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development, is estimated at 20 million dirhams.

The project, which is meant to improve the unloading of fish and the daily life of traditional fishermen, comprises ten entities: a fish market, a cold room, an ice factory, administrative facilities, a fish processing area, a retail market, mechanical workshops and pontoons for landing fish.

The Senegalese Ministry of Fisheries and Maritime Economy will supervise the project management, the allocation of the facilities to fishermen and the maintenance of its components.

The site, which is located in the Bay of Soumebedioune, is home to 306 canoes and about 1,500 sailors.

The launch of this project comes within the framework of the working and friendship visit, which the Sovereign kicked off Wednesday in Senegal, the first step of an African tour that will take HM the King to Guinea-Bissau, Côte d’Ivoire and Gabon.
