Ortiz shared important points to consider if a property was going to be vacant at any point in time. Different companies and policies define vacancy in in several ways and may not offer any coverage for properties which are vacant.

Other coverages which may not be offered include fire, liability and water damage. He explains some options for buying additional endorsements which could provide coverage under some of these circumstances, depending on the investor’s goals for that property and their priorities.
