Star Gold Corp Begins Biological Baseline Studies at Longstreet Project

COEUR D’ALENE, ID / ACCESSWIRE / June 15, 2015 / Star Gold Corp. (“Star Gold” or the “Company”) (OTCQB: SRGZ), announced that it has commenced work on Biological Baseline Studies at the Longstreet Project in Nye County, Nevada.

Star Gold has contracted with Mr. Reinis N. Sipols P.E. of Pack Leader Services LLC to co-ordinate the various studies and interact with all necessary agencies such as the Forestry Service and Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

In April 2015, Star Gold Corp contracted with Sue Fox of Wildlife Resource Consultants LLC to begin the biological baseline studies. This is expected to take about twelve months to complete. Additionally, Star Gold has begun to examine vendors for the studies needed for hydrology, cultural resources and additional metallurgical studies.

CardioComm Solutions Announces Global Agreement with IntriCon Corporation to Expand GEMS(TM) WIN Sales through Access to New and Cost-Effective, Wireless ECG Devices

(TSXV: EKG) (“CardioComm Solutions” or the “Company”) a global medical provider of electrocardiogram (“ECG”) acquisition and management software solutions, today announced it has entered into an ECG device and software distribution and marketing agreement with Minnesota based IntriCon Corporation (“IntriCon”; NASDAQ symbol “IIN”).

CardioComm Solutions will benefit directly from devices sales as an authorized distributor of the Sirona devices with preferred distributor pricing which will translate into competitive pricing to the Company’s Global ECG Management Solution for Windows (“GEMS(TM) WIN”) customer base. Hardware sales will commence in Canada and the USA with the anticipation that the Sirona device will have the needed CE Mark provided for sales to be possible in Europe by the end of this year.

Under the agreement, CardioComm Solutions has developed a custom interoptability between IntriCon’s Sirona ECG device and the Company’s proprietary wireless GEMS(TM) WIN module and (“GEMS(TM) AIR”). This integration will allow GEMS(TM) WIN licensors to incorporate the Sirona device into their business operations for use alongside their existing ambulatory ECG/arrhythmia monitoring device inventory. For customers under an active GEMS(TM) AIR software license, the appropriate Sirona driver version update will be provided at no cost.

What’s new? In addition to supporting traditional trans-telephonic ECG transmission, the Sirona device can connect via Android and iPhone mobile devices allowing a patient’s own Smartphone to support wireless transmission of their Sirona acquired ECG data. Use of patient Smartphones would provide savings opportunities for GEMS(TM) AIR customers who no longer would be required to purchase more expensive ambulatory ECG monitoring devices with built-in GSM capabilities. Educational Toy Company Click-A-Brick Applauds Amazon Free Same-Day Delivery

The team at educational toy company Click-A-Brick are pleased with Amazon’s decision to enact free same-day shipping in select metropolitan areas for certain orders by its Prime customers.

Amazon announced the free same-day shipping recently for 14 metropolitan areas, saying Prime members who place orders of $35 or more by noon in these areas would receive their items by 9 p.m. that day without having to pay the usual same-day shipping fee of $5.99. The price of Prime membership is not set to increase with the new free delivery feature.

“This is meant to simplify our customers’ lives,” Amazon’s vice president of Prime Chris Rupp, said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. “Some of the feedback we’ve gotten from customers is it already feels like we’re living in the future.”

Click-A-Brick Co-Founders Jason Smith and Georg de Gorostiza applaud the move, saying it will help small companies like theirs who primarily sell through Amazon compete better in a crowded toy market.

“Small companies are always looking for ways to entice customers and if you sell almost exclusively through Amazon, something like this really helps give that added incentive to customers to place an order,” Smith said. “It’s also a great convenience for customers. Sometimes, you need something right away but you don’t have the opportunity to run out and stop at a store. This way you can get it delivered right to your door or get it delivered right to their door. You never know when you’re going to have an emergency when you need an educational toy for someone and don’t have time to stop by a store. It happens.”

Smith said the company had discussed the possibility of offering some kind of free shipment for customers, but it was difficult to make it feasible trying to do it by themselves. Having Amazon step in and offer it site-wide is extremely helpful to not only Click-A-Brick, but all the companies that use Amazon. And the move makes sense for the online retailer, he added, as it continues to expand its reach and grow even bigger.

The Click-A-Brick team is excited that the free same-day delivery will eventually be extended to other metropolitan areas down the line. With the current roll out, more than 500 cities will enjoy the feature with more set to be included in the future.

The metro areas where Amazon has rolled out free same-day delivery are: Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle-Tacoma, Tampa Bay and Washington, D.C.

Stevia First: Reinventing Nutrition by Replacing Sugar

WHITEFISH, MT / ACCESSWIRE / June 15, 2015 / Metabolic syndrome is a combination of factors that multiply a person’s risk for heart disease, diabetes, and stroke that affects roughly 34% of American adults. The condition is characterized by raised triglycerides, reduced HDL cholesterol and increases to blood pressure, and fasting plasma glucose compared to well-established health standards. Studies have shown that fructose – found in table sugar and high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) – is a leading cause of these issues.

Not surprisingly some of the biggest users in the world of fructose, and high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) in particular, are beverage companies such as The Coca-Cola Co., Dr. Pepper Snapple, and Pepsi Co, Inc. In 2009 the FDA ruled that products containing HFCS could not be labeled “natural,” which lead Hansen’s Natural Corporation to announce that they were moving to cane sugar and eventually had enough of an impact to change the entire company name to Monster Beverage Corporation.

In this article, we’ll take a look at sugar’s role in major diseases and how Stevia First Corp. aims to combat the issue by replacing sugar through increased global supply of their compelling zero-calorie alternative.

Sugar’s Role in Disease

To your body, sugar and HFCS are nearly identical. Both are metabolized as glucose and fructose, and fructose in particular plays a major role in metabolic syndrome, which in turn contributes to the development of heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. While it’s technically just a carbohydrate, fructose is metabolized by the body in a unique way that could lead many metabolic markers – including triglyceride levels and fasting plasma glucose levels – to increase and ultimately cause many of the underlying symptoms of metabolic syndrome.

Excess ingestion of fructose – a component of sugar – increases VLDL production, which increases apoB or LDL-P due to a high triglyceride load. At reasonable doses, insulin resistance levels also degrade with fructose consumption, which leads to an increase of fasting plasma glucose levels and amplifies the damage caused by other foods. Both of these dynamics can lead to many of the symptoms associated with heart disease and diabetes.

Artificial Sweeteners Are Demonized

Artificial sweeteners have become a popular alternative to sugar, despite claims and perceived risk by many that they cause cancer or other diseases. Aspartame was rejected more than once by the FDA before being approved, but by now, there are probably few substances that have been more tested by the FDA than artificial sweeteners. Researchers that demonstrated negative effects of high-potency sweeteners often had to pump rats with very high dose, consumption levels that rarely occur with humans.

Most artificial sweeteners such as sucralose are far sweeter than sucrose, which means that less needs to be used, often leading to a label of zero calories. There is even a drink containing sucralose, made by Celsius Holdings, Inc., that claims to burn 100 calories per 12 ounce serving! This product may demonstrate what is possible when combining zero-calorie sweeteners with large doses of caffeine and other ingredients that may increase energy expenditure. Other artificial sweeteners, like alcohol sugars, aren’t sweeter than sucrose, but have a very different metabolic profile.

Stevia Solves the Problem

Stevia, as a zero-calorie natural sweetener, has all the health benefits of reducing calories, coupled with a great reputation and track record of safety. It has much less impact on insulin and other metabolic markers than sugar or HFCS, and therefore contributes far less to metabolic syndrome.

Stevia has already been the centerpiece of several success stories within the food and beverage industries, including Coca-Cola Corporation and Cargill’s Truvia and Coca-Cola’s Vitaminwater Zero, which is privately owned through its Energy Brands subsidiary. In its first year, Vitaminwater Zero was estimated to have generated more than $100 million in revenue, while Truvia generated an estimated $130 million in annual revenue in 2013, according to Statista.com. Now, due to this recent success with stevia products, multinational food and beverage giants like Coca-Cola and Cargill are seeking to find ways to increase global supply of this critical ingredient.

Solving a Supply Issue

American Cannabis Company Announces New York Application Submission, Florida Update, and Maryland Consulting Contract

(OTCQB: AMMJ) (the “Company”), a full-service cannabis industry consultant and provider of proprietary and preferred products, today announced updates to its advisory and consulting business focused on assisting clients in applying for state licenses to open and operate legal cannabis facilities and dispensaries in states with state regulated programs.

On June 4, 2015 the Company completed and submitted on behalf of its client an application pursuant to the Compassionate Care Program administered by the State of New York Department of Health. The State of New York announced that it would award five licenses to operate cannabis cultivation and processing facilities for the purpose of medicinal cannabis oil production. Additionally, each licensee will have the right to operate four retail medicinal cannabis oil dispensary locations throughout the state. The State of New York intends to award and issue the licenses during the summer of 2015. Should the Company’s client be awarded a license, the Company will commence consulting to focus first on the facility design, deployment, employee training, and on-going operational consulting of a cannabis oil cultivation and processing facility, and second on the dispensary facilities, with the plan of opening retail medicinal dispensaries in early 2016.
