Plano Father Passes Down Nautical Traditions

Dallas, Texas, 06/28/2015 /SubmitPressRelease123/

As summer begins and with the DFW Boat Expo a few weeks away, Plano father John St. Clair remembers his father introducing him to the boating lifestyle one summer in the early 1970s. Now he has passed the tradition of the boating lifestyle to his twin 14-year-old sons.

St. Clair recalls, “Back then, my father did not own a boat, so he borrowed a friend’s 1963 16′ Lone Star runabout, and we would go to Lake Dallas after he got home from work. We would fish, ski and enjoy eating our dinner on the water. After that summer and us trailering the boat up to Lake Texoma, my dad’s friend saw that we, Dad and son, were hooked and decided to permanently loan it to us.”

“I’ve now raised my 14-year-old twin boys on the water. I’ve been able to teach them the importance of safety and responsibility while still doing an activity where we have the same special time that my father and I had. Even if that means, as a captain, endless circling while teaching them how to water ski!”

The family now keeps their SeaRay boats at Lake Texoma’s Highport Marina, and even the purchase through Marine Max, where St. Clair worked as a teenager cleaning boats, was a family affair.

“All of us took a test ride or two prior to any purchase. This made a big difference, and it allowed us to customize the boat prior to manufacturing. We eliminated several options and added others. Our boats are unique to us, and that feels good.”

The male Baby Boomer has been the core of the boating industry for decades, buying millions of boats, engines and accessories. However, it is becoming increasingly important for the boating industry to create younger boating enthusiasts.

This year, the Millennial generation (born roughly between 1981 and 1997) will surpass Baby Boomers (born 1946 to 1964) as the largest living generation, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau. By the end of 2015, there will be an estimated 75.3 million Millennials compared to 74.9 million Boomers.

In a recent boating industry survey, 65 percent of respondents said they were at least somewhat concerned about the aging population of boat buyers; only 5 percent were not concerned at all.

Can You Pass the Civics Test That Those Seeking Citizenship Must Pass?

Asheville, North Carolina, United States, 06/25/2015 /SubmitPressRelease123/

Newly released Civics Handbook presents you with the information and the test to examine your own civics proficiency, and provides astudy tool assisting children, adults and all students to learn the material. And while learning, you might be inspired to visit and see where some of this history unfolded as Historic Sites, Places, Parks, Battlefields, Sites of Remembrance and NationalTreasures are listed in the book. Americana A Civics Handbook Second Edition was released this Spring of 2015 by Mary B. Mackley of Asheville, NC.
There has been an increased frequency and an almost urgent drumbeat of stories reporting a lack of knowledge of Civics and American History in our schools. Even comedians have highlighted this issue while embarking in random questioning of adults in various settings. When quizzed about American History and Civics….the answer given may be incorrect (and pretty funny), but the point is made…there’s a knowledge deficit and room for improvement! While this may seem amusing at first, when you really think about it, it’s not so funny.

Our Sixteenth President, Abraham Lincoln, said…”I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any National crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts…” This book brings you the facts. The Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights; facts about Early America, the Original Thirteen Colonies, U.S. Presidents, the fifty states, National Symbols, U.S. Wars and more are included. Facts presented will help you have more understanding of the questions and answers on the topics covered by the civics test. Over 50 pages of historic sketches add an additional visual dimension in appreciation of our American history.

Mary B. Mackley, a nurse for 30 years, embraced the role as teacher in working with her patients throughout the years. Her passion for History and Civics was formulated in her youth, in AP History classes through St. John’s University, and the time she spent providing interpretive guided tours and programs at a National Historic Site during and after college.

The book is available at Amazon, or through the website below. For more information about Americana A Civics Handbook Second Edition and the author, please visit www.civicshandbook.com. You can contact Mary B. Mackley at (828)606-7263 or civicshandbook@aol.com.

Record Growth Projected for Global Medical Aesthetics

Dallas, Texas, 06/27/2015 /SubmitPressRelease123/

According to market research, the global medical aesthetics market is estimated to grow 10.8 percent from 2015 to 2020. North America currently holds the largest share of the medical aesthetics market. Factors such as rising consumer awareness and interest in aesthetic procedures, strong local economies, aggressive marketing by leading U.S. and European companies, and decreasing social taboos are propelling its growth.

Women account for the lion’s share of the industry’s growth. This is mainly driven by an aging population, the growing adoption of minimally invasive and non-invasive aesthetic procedures, increased public awareness and technological advancements in energy-based devices.

Dr. Dennis Eisenberg, from Medical Aesthetics of North Dallas, says, “In addition to the cosmetic, we are specifically finding more and more requests for non-invasive procedures that improve women’s quality of life. Procedures like the recently FDA-approved MonaLisa Touch? – a treatment for Vaginal Atrophy after menopause – and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) are more frequently requested.”

Today’s population is healthier than in previous decades. And with that, not only do people want to look as good as they feel, their interest in taking care of themselves extends to all aspects of the body.

Baby Boomers represent over 28 percent of the population in North America, contributing to its command of the largest share (49 percent) of the global medical aesthetics market in 2015. North America will continue to lead in the years to come, owing to rapidly aging population, technological advancements and growing FDA approvals of devices in the U.S.

Currently, the medical aesthetics market is a diversified and competitive one with a large number of players. In 2014, Cynosure Inc. (manufacturer of MonaLisa Touch), Syneron Medical Ltd., Solta Medical, Inc., ZELTIQ Aesthetics, Inc., Lumenis Ltd., and PhotoMedex, Inc. were the leading companies in the global medical aesthetics laser and energy devices market.
