Cambridge, MA – On July 14 2015, LuxMea Design Studio launched a Kickstarter campaign for Skraep, an award-winning design concept that transforms crumpled scrap paper by 3D printing.

Although it appears simple at first glance, a crumpled piece of paper is actually quite complex, its form determined by the interactions of dozens of folds. It’s easy to create in your hands, but much harder to model and construct. Skraep was designed using the team’s custom-built physics engine. By simulating the same forces your hands apply in shaping a piece of paper, they were able to capture the essence of this complex object.

In April 2015, the Skraep Pendant won a Golden award in the prestigious A’ Design Competition held in Milan. Now LuxMea Design Studio is introducing three major product lines to Kickstarter: the decorative toy, pendant and cuff. Skraep toys come in either the plastic or steel collection, or the standing white stoneware. Pendants and cuffs are available in rose gold, white gold, yellow gold, and sterling silver.
