FIU College of Architecture + The Arts launches INSPICIO

MIAMI, FL – July 16, 2015 – The College of Architecture + The Arts (CARTA) at FIU has launched a media platform titled Inspicio that provides insight into all arts disciplines with an emphasis on Miami.

The first phase of the platform is the website: http://inspicio.fiu.edu/ with subsequent phases including an e-magazine anticipated to publish in the fall, and further in the future, a semiannual printed magazine.

Please register for a complimentary subscription to Inspicio here:
http://inspicio.fiu.edu/complimentary-subscription/

“Visitors to Inspicio from the FIU, South Florida and global communities will experience the vibrant diversity and rich world-class creativity of Miami,” said CARTA Dean Brian Schriner.

Pronounced “een-spee-cho,” it is a Latin word meaning to inspect, examine, and review. With that in mind, Inspicio will provide insight into all arts disciplines by featuring essays, articles and columns by veteran writers and journalists along with FIU faculty. FIU students will also have an opportunity to contribute to the site by writing essays and reviews of exhibits and events hosted by local arts organizations. Video interviews on the website feature notable artists, art professionals, and collectors who live in, or engage with the South Florida art community.

Artist and magazine publisher Raymond Elman will serve as Inspicio’s founding managing editor. Elman is co-founder of Provincetown Arts magazine, an award-winning publication that has been spotlighting the Cape Cod art community since 1985. Elman left Provincetown Arts in 1989 to engage with the emerging digital communication industry as the national director of creative services at Coopers & Lybrand. A serial entrepreneur, he co-founded Streamline Communications (now the publicly traded Bridgeline Digital), founded Cambria Interactive at Cambria Consulting, and co-founded Aericon, a digital marketing, education and communication company.

In addition, Elman has sustained a visual arts career. Four of his large scale portraits are included in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. Elman has a bachelor’s in economics and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He also studied fine arts at the University of Pennsylvania and at New York University.

Inspicio will manifest FIU’s commitment to all of the arts communities of the Miami area by being an independent voice,” said Elman.

The publication platform supports CARTA’s mission by providing an avenue for FIU students to examine and comment on local art activities and communities in South Florida. The vision for Inspicio is to be a sophisticated enabler of the arts that becomes a resource for anyone interested in the Miami art scene. Added Schriner, “Inspicio provides our students with unparalleled experiential learning opportunities to work with and learn from renown artists, journalists, essayists, and academicians.”

Researchers Reveal New and Inexpensive Method for DNA Testing

Researchers for Harvard and the Diagnostics for All foundation have revealed a new, groundbreaking development that will allow for affordable DNA testing and evaluation in all corners of the world. Learn more here.

Atlanta, GA, United States – July 16, 2015 /PressCable/

A team working for Diagnostics for All foundation and Harvard University has announced a new development, which will help to advance the medical practices of countries previously unable to afford DNA diagnostics. This new machine, called the “Paper Machine” by its developers, will only cost around $2 for each test performed. This is marginally less than previous costs associated with DNA testing, which would require an experienced medical staff and laboratory to perform.

Not only does the “Paper Machine” help make this essential test affordable for developing countries and offers extremely precise results, it will also simplify the testing process, allowing for flexibility in the environment where the test is performed. A black light can be used to illuminate the resulting sample, and a smart phone camera can be used to verify the presence of the dye.

In reference to their creation, the study authors said “Starting with human plasma spiked with whole, live E. coli cells, this paper demonstrates full integration of sample preparation with LAMP amplification and end point detection with a limit of detection of 5 cells. Further, it shows that the method used to prepare sample enables concentration of DNA from sample volumes commonly available from fingerstick blood draw.”

Whats more, their respective foundations have publicly promised to bring this simplified DNA testing machine to the most remote and impoverished corners of the world.

Ethical Online Business shares in these companies goal to spread technology and awareness around the globe. When asked about this announcement, Fran Jeffries, a representative for the company, said “This is a step in the right direction for the overall wellbeing of the global community. New Study Reveals Whooping Cough Cases Rising As Vaccine Loses Strength

In light of the rapid increase in whooping cough cases, the CDC has released a statement to raise community awareness of the importance of a healthy immune system. Learn more here.

Pensacola, FL, United States – July 16, 2015 /PressCable/

A fresh new study by the Centers for Disease Control and Protection reveals that the pre-teen whooping cough vaccine becomes less powerful over time. The CDC reminds the public that anyone can get whooping cough, but it can be very dangerous for infants and people with weakened immune systems.

Study author, Dr. Anna Acosta, an epidemiologist with the CDC, describes the findings, saying “Among adolescents, within the first year following immunization the vaccine effectiveness was 73 percent – but by two to four years out, it had fallen to about 34 percent effectiveness.”

According to statistics available at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, cases of whooping cough in the United States began rising sharply in the early 2000s. The statistics speak volumes, considering that from 1979 to 2001, the maximum reported case statistic was 8,000 per year, yet in 2014 alone, cases of whooping cough exceeded a shocking 28,000.

When asked their opinion on these findings, Dr. Althouse and Dr. Scarpino revealed they are considering a newly developed theory as the possible reason for the upswing. They concluded that a switch in the vaccine, from whole-cell, which was more effective, to an acellular form, is the underlying culprit behind the recent increase of infection. They described this theory further, saying, “The vaccine complicates estimates of prevalence by hiding many infections.”

While vaccination is still the recommended best defense against whooping cough, Nora Markin, spokesperson for a popular wellness site, said “Our main goal is helping people understand that keeping their bodies and immune systems strong can work wonders for staying well and free of illness. After all, without an immune system, there would be no stopping germs and infections.

Markin continued to stress the importance of enabling the immune system to do its job by fueling it with the nutrients it needs to function properly. She explains in more detail, saying, “The body’s natural defense against disease is the immune system — that’s why this integral, life-sustaining network deserves all the support and encouragement it can get. Whether you’re already suffering from an illness or infection, or just looking to stay healthy, providing your body with naturally derived essential vitamins and antioxidants that you get from healthy foods may give your immune system the boost it needs to help redeem or maintain your good health.”

Kansas City Car Dent Removal Company Deletes Website

Luckily, they will be launching a new website with a heavy focus on user experience based on customer feedback from their old site. Find out more at www.kcdentsbegone.com.

Kansas City, Kansas, United States – July 16, 2015 /PressCable/

In an exciting change of pace, Dent Removal Service “Kansas City Dents Be Gone“, will be celebrating the launch of its most recent website overhaul. It is reported the event will take place on Friday, July 17th.

In a space where most competitors simply throw up a generic, template website, call it good and fail to cause much of a stir, Kansas City Dents Be Gone has opted to be a little more exciting with the introduction of its new website.

Chris Holder, Marketing Director at Kansas City Dents Be Gone, says: “We wanted to be exciting with our new website. We wanted to create a web experience which aligned closer with our customer’s needs. After surveying our customers experience on our old site, we found many of them were simply looking for a phone number to call as quick as possible. But our number was small and hard to read. However with our new site, our phone number is plastered everywhere. You can easily find it four times in less than 10 seconds.”

“The site should really stand out and we’re hoping it will make it painless for future customers to learn about our services and contact us. We think it should work great unless Kansas City never gets another hailstorm!”

Kansas City Dents Be Gone has always thrived on the idea of standing out and making a commotion. It’s all part of the company’s goal to make it easier for customers to recommend their services to friends and family, which Holder thinks is better than businesses who choose to do things the ‘regular’ way. This new website is just one of the many ways Kansas City Dents Be Gone achieves that goal.

When asked about the new website, Holder said: “We think it’s going to be a real hit because none of our competitors offer a web experience this incredible”.

Kansas City Dents Be Gone’s new website is set to ‘go live’ Friday, July 17th. To see the website and Kansas City Dents Be Gone, visit www.kcdentsbegone.com

ASIC Too Busy – Billions in Cash Unclaimed in Australia, Recovery Agents Needed

There is a huge need for Recovery Agents in Australia. ASIC has been overwhelmed by the December 2012 decision to seize inactive bank accounts after three years, and the reversal back to seven years will not require ASIC to keep a register of unclaimed monies.

Sydney, Australia – July 16, 2015 /PressCable/

ASIC, Australian Securities and Investments Commission is a Government agency that is responsible for returning “lost” money to Australian citizens. In 2014, it was unable to return any lost funds during 2013-2014. According to news.com.au “After the three-year rule was announced, ASIC had to redirect staff who had been locating owners.”

Since ASICS does not have the man-power to supply this service to the Australian public any longer, it falls to the Unclaimed Money Recovery Industry to fill in the gap. Myriam Borg, Founder of the unclaimed money recovery industry in Australia and New Zealand and the creator of “The Recovery Consulting Program” is the foremost authority on unclaimed money recovery industry.

Myriam had this to say about the amount of money that is currently unclaimed in Australia: “There is a whole heap of un-recovered funds across all Australian states, millions of records just waiting to be found. Money that is just sitting there waiting for its owner. And if it isn’t refunded to its owner, guess what happens? Yep … it gets handed straight over to the government and becomes revenue!”

Since the laws that govern unclaimed funds were amended in 2012, it allows the government to claim this money after three years, so any unclaimed funds are “confiscated” and not available to the rightful recipients. With the proposed change to revert back to the 7-year confiscation of “unclaimed” monies, it can be exceeding difficult for citizens to find and recover money.

According to Myriam Borg, “The 2011 ASIC report figures show a figure of $13.7 Billion dollars in lost Superannuation alone! That’s a lot of money, the numbers are simply mind boggling! I wasn’t an accountant but I decided to commence my own recovery agency based on the size of the unclaimed money industry”

Myriam goes on to say that “Using a Recovery Agent makes everything easier and is “Just brilliant!” And the best part is that everybody wins, everyone is happy. The client receives money he/she wasn’t aware of and the business is happy because they are making money doing something of service & integrity… not just earning money for its own sake! Just brilliant, Everyone wins!”

Myriam’s current business is to help others to learn skills perfected over the years. Myriam started the lost funds recovery business in 1999, but has since moved on to helping others realize dreams of financial freedom. With the company Cre8 Recovery, Myriam gives expertise from over 16 years of experience to those seeking to create a portable, flexible and viable business.

Myriam, offers a 23 page report on the unclaimed money industry and explains: “I’ve completed the rigorous qualifications needed to become a University qualified Educator and trainer. Our business Cre8 was a Nationally Accredited and endorsed Registered Training Organisation (RTO) similar to the institute of TAFE for a great many year”

“This means as an organization we have got the skills, qualifications and documentations to provide the very best training available. And to my knowledge, this is the ONLY training available in Australia for Recovering Lost Money.”

Clean-Slate Janitorial Services Weighs in on the Importance of a Freshly Waxed Floor During the Summer

Clean Slate Janitorial Services weighs in on the importance of stripping and waxing floors in the summertime.

Toronto, Canada – July 16, 2015 /MarketersMedia/

Clean-Slate Janitorial Services (www.Clean-Slate.ca), a leading service provider of commercial office cleaning in Vaughan and the Greater Toronto Area, is weighing in on the importance of keeping floors waxed and stripped during the summer months.

“Following the damage caused by snow and rain in the winter and spring, vinyl and ceramic flooring can be left looking worse for the wear,” says Sam Panousis, owner and operator of Clean Slate Janitorial Services. “And with people being more active in the summer compared to the other seasons that traffic—and the dirt and other materials that come with it—is only going to increase.”

Stripping removes all the dirt, debris, stains, and old wax that have accumulated on floors over time. It is also recommended that businesses have their floors waxed, which provides a number of benefits, such as giving the flooring a glossy shine and a cleaner look. It also makes wear and tear in high traffic areas less obvious and keeps moisture out, which is especially important during periods of summer humidity. (Source: “Stripping And Waxing Floors,” Out of Sight Cleaning web site; http://www.outofsightcleaning.com/commercial-services/stripping-and-waxing-floors/, last accessed July 8, 2015.)

High traffic areas in many offices, such as reception and break rooms, tend to need waxing and stripping services the most. The combination of dust and debris, along with the harsh road salts being used by municipal crews, can cause scratches and other, deeper damage. Not only does this cause flooring to look worn out, but it also conveys a poor image to clients.

“Floor stripping can clean up all the dirt and debris that has accumulated on flooring,” Panousis concludes. “Combine this with a good waxing and a floor will look as good as new and convey a good image to customers.”

Clean-Slate Janitorial Services offers floor waxing for commercial and retail properties in Vaughan and the surrounding regions. For more information, visit www.Clean-Slate.ca.
